Bioavailability and Tolerability of Fexofenadine Hydrochloride Topical Lotion 1%
Atopic DermatitisAtopic Dermatitis Eczema10 moreThe investigational lotion is envisaged as an short- and long term "Ease & Prevent" monotherapy for adults and children with mild to moderate eczema. With itch representing the most burdensome symptom in eczema, the main objectives with the lotion is fast and efficient itch relief, high tolerability, and high short- and long term safety. This phase 1 study aims to monitor skin tolerability, and how much of the active compound that is absorbed to the bloodstream.

Safety, Tolerability and Pharmacokinetics Trial of JDP-205 Injection 10 mg
Acute UrticariaThis study is to investigate the pharmacokinetics (PK) together with the safety and tolerability of JDP-205 at 5 mg and 10 mg intravenous doses and 10 mg intramuscular dose, in comparison to the marketed cetirizine oral product Zyrtec® 10 mg tablets (an OTC product) in healthy male and female volunteers after a single dose administration.
The Role of Vitamin D in Chronic Urticaria and Angioedema Treatment
UrticariaAngioedema2 moreThis clinical study was designed based on our hypothesis that vitamin D plays an important role in chronic urticaria and that high dose supplementation with vitamin D in subjects with chronic urticaria will improve clinical response. This clinical study will investigate our hypothesis in three Specific Aims: Determine whether high dosing vitamin D supplementation (4000 IU/day) reduces medication usage (primary outcome) and urticaria severity score (secondary outcome) in subjects with chronic urticaria as compared to low dosing (600 IU/day). Determine if high dosing of vitamin D (4000 IU/day) is safe and well-tolerated in subjects with chronic urticaria with or without baseline vitamin D deficiency. Investigate whether there is an association with serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels, vitamin D receptor mRNA expression, and chronic urticaria severity.
Intravenous Immunoglobulins in Severe and Refractory Solar Urticaria
Solar UrticariaSolar urticaria is a rare but debilitating disease that can severely impact the quality of life, restricting outdoor activities.Treatment, based on sun protection and anti-histaminic drugs, is efficacious in 2 patients out of 3. In refractory patients, photodesensitization or immunosuppressive treatments such as cyclosporin A can be proposed. As in idiopathic urticaria, intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIG)have been shown, in a retrospective study of 7 patients, to dramatically improve 71% of patients. In an open-label prospective multicenter study, we aim to demonstrate the efficacy of a single IVIG administration (2g/kg) in 10 patients affected with severe and refractory solar urticaria.
Study of the Effects of Chinese Herbal Medicine on Chronic Urticaria
Chronic UrticariaUrticaria is a common dermatology disease. Urticaria affects nearly 25% of the population at some time in their lives. Recurrent skin itch, insomnia, daily activities limitation greatly affect the quality of life. Some patient with chronic urticaria who had poor response to antihistamine may need second line medication. In United States, up to 54% chronic urticarial patient use oral corticosteroid to control. However, long-term use of oral steroids still needs to consider the impact of its side effects. Therefore, patients may seek for alternative medicine as an adjuvant therapy. It is still lack large-scale clinical trials in Traditional Chinese Medicine research of chronic urticarial. The aim of this study is to conduct a double-blind, randomized clinical trial to analyze the effectiveness of Chinese medicine in chronic urticaria and its possible mechanisms.
