The Effect of Laser Power and Fiber Traction Speed on the Outcomes of Endovenous Laser Ablation...

Varicose Veins

A multicenter clinical randomized controlled trial, comparing of three different regimens of endovenous laser ablation with equal linear endovenous energy density in patients with insufficiency of the great saphenous vein (GSV). The linear endovenous energy density (LEED) is the main value for standardization EVLA. From many studies, it is known the optimum value of the LEED. However, the same LEED may be obtained by varying the ratio between the laser power and the fiber pullback speed. Power decrease can allow to reduce the incidence of adverse effects of endovenous laser ablation, but keep high efficiency.

Compression Therapy Following Truncal Vein Endothermal Ablation And Distal Sclerotherapy

Varicose Veins

Study purpose is to research whether compression therapy is beneficial after truncal vein RF-ablation and distal sclerotherapy done in the same session when needed. Patients will be randomised to either no compression group (Group I) or compression group (Group II)

Steam Ablation Versus Endovenous Laser Ablation for the Treatment of Great Saphenous Veins

Varicose VeinsVaricose Veins of Leg With Long Saphenous Vein Distribution

Endovenous laser ablation is a common therapy of great saphenous vein insufficiency with a very high success rate. It works by heating and thereby obliterating the vein. Steam ablation is a new therapy that also works by heating and thereby obliterating the vein. The hypothesis of this study is that steam ablation is as effective as laser ablation, but that it results in better secondary outcomes (e.g., lower pain scores).

REVITIVE for the Treatment of Patients With Venous Insufficiency

Venous InsufficiencyOedema1 more

To investigate the efficacy of an electrical stimulation (using the REVITIVE IX device) in treating patients with venous insufficiency.

COmpressioN Following Endovenous TreatmenT of Incompetent Varicose Veins

Varicose Veins

This study will be looking at the effect of compression therapy in patients having endovenous treatment for varicose veins using foam sclerotherapy. Patients will be randomised to either the compression group (group A) or the no compression group (group B). The pain scores, compliance, quality of life scores, occlusion rate at 6 months as well as the cost effectiveness of each intervention will be assessed.

Painless Local Infiltration Anesthesia

Varicose VeinsPain2 more

The purpose of this study is to assess if a dilution with 1.4% sodium bicarbonate of a 2% mepivacaine+epinephrine solution, can be effective in reducing the pain associated with local infiltration anesthesia, during ambulatory phlebectomy procedures.

To Compare the Efficacy and Safety of Carvedilol With or Without Simvastatin in Patients With Portal...

Cirrhosis With Esophageal Varices

After successful screening of patients based on inclusion criteria, we will measure the baseline Hepatic Venous Pressure Gradient. At day 1 patients will undergo complete blood investigation including complete haemogram, kidney function test, liver function test, prothrombin time, AFP (Alfa Feto Protein) level, chest x ray, ultrasonography, fibroscan. Routine complete physical examination will be done.

Prediction of Esophageal Varices in Liver Cirrhosis Using Tongue Bioinformatics

Esophageal and Gastric Varices

The goal of this observational study is to compare the tongue bioinformatics of high-risk and low-risk patients with esophageal varices due to liver cirrhosis. The main question of this study is to explore whether there exists a relationship between the degree of esophageal varices and tongue bioinformatics in liver cirrhosis. it aims to answer 2 questions as below: question 1: If these is a significant difference in tongue bioinformatics between patients in liver cirrhosis with high-risk and low-risk of esophageal varices. Question 2; If tongue bioinformatics can be used as a diagnostic basic for testing esophageal varices in liver cirrhosis. Firstly, participants will be divided into two groups according to their degree of esophageal varices from electronic gastroscopy report and CT scan report including high-risk group and low-risk group. Secondly, participants will be asked to show their tongue, including the surface and sublingual veins of tongue, and the tongue images of each participants will be collected by researchers via camera. After finishing tongue image collection, participants will receive a professional tongue diagnosis report in Traditional Chinese Medicine and health suggestion.

RCT Comparing EVLA Versus Polidocanol Foam in the Treatment of SSV Insufficiency

Varicose Veins of Lower Limb

FOVELASS is a multicentre-RCT (11 centres) comparing ultrasound-guided-foam sclerotherapy (UGFS) and Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) for treating SSV insufficiency, conducted by the French Society of Phlebology.

Catheter-directed Foam Sclerotherapy With Tumescence

Varicose Vein of Lower Limbs

Foam sclerotherapy has been established as another option of treatment for varicose veins of the lower limbs. Its advantages are the application to patients with high surgical risk and immediate return to usual activities. Comparing to laser and radiofrequency, it has lower cost and is less painful. Nevertheless, it requires more re-interventions due to venous recanalization.
