To assess in a double blinded randomized control trial (RCT) study design safety and effectiveness of balloon angioplasty of the main extracranial and extravertebral veins in multiple sclerosis (MS) associated to chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI). Mean follow-up 1 year. 5-8 Italian centres 360 relapsing remitting (RR) MS patients will be randomized, with expanded disability disease scale (EDSS) ranging 2-5.5, age 18-65.

The use of neuromuscular electrical stimulation in the treatment of venous ulcers with difficulty of repair could be an alternative therapeutic favoring devitalized tissues and hence the pain. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of neuromuscular electrical stimulation on pain and area of venous ulcers in patients with venous insufficiency.

The VenaCure EVLT 400 µm Fiber Kit is currently marketed for the treatment of varicose veins. AngioDynamics, Inc., the company that manufacturers the VenaCure device, is sponsoring this study to assess the safety and effectiveness of the VenaCure EndoVenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) 400 µm Fiber Kit for treatment of incompetent perforator veins (IPVs). The VenaCure EVLT 400 µm Fiber Kit has not been previously studied by AngioDynamics for the ablation of IPVs.

The objective of the study is to collect clinical data of patients in whom Flebogrif® will have been used for mechanochemical ablation of incompetent veins in the follow-up period, as related to the safety, clinical effectiveness, properties and advantages of Flebogrif®. The proposed study is a prospective, multi-centre clinical trial assessing the safety, efficacy and quality of Flebogrif® in a population of patients with the incompetent great saphenous vein, who require surgical treatment.
