Mother to Child transmission is the main route of hepatitis B virus (HBV) transmission in China, attributing to over 50% HBV infection. Familial aggregation in HBV infection is well recognized with underlying stipulations like mother-to-child transmission（MTCT）, susceptible genes, close contact and other factors. Not surprisingly, a large proportion of hepatitis B virus infected population in China have a family history of hepatitis B virus infection. In clinical practice those family members usually undergo merely hepatitis B virus serology tests without HBV DNA test, which ruled out false HBsAg (-) or Occult HBV Infection (OBI) from Screening and linkage to care (SLTC). Unfortunately, the missed-out OBI in CHB family members was of a greater prevalence compared to those from general population (8.0% vs. 2.6%) . Moreover, OBI has been well recognized as strong risk factor in hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） development with significant HBV DNA integration into host genome . In light of the latest 2019 China CHB guidelines, treatment criteria covered subjects with family history of CHB related cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Therefore, subjects of HBsAg (+) with normal alanine aminotransferase（ALT） or OBI are eligible for further consideration of HBV anti-viral treatment. This study proposed will explore the prevalence of OBI in subjects with family history of HBV related cirrhosis or HCC. The screened HBsAg (+) with normal alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and OBI subjects would be linked to anti-viral therapies.

Study to enroll up to 1000 adult patients (>18 years) presenting with febrile or rash illness of short duration (<72h) in designated clinics in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The investigator hypothesizes that oxidative stress responses to West Nile virus infection in the central nervous system determine the severity of infection and the long-term neurological, neuropsychological and functional sequelae of West Nile Neuroinvasive Disease.

Retrospective laboratory evaluation of the detection rate of CHIKV infection by real-time Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) on urine. Urine and serum samples from patients with confirmed CHIKV infections from an endemic area (Aruba) and from ITM will be analyzed. The results will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis: time since onset, patient characteristics, severity of symptoms, serology results. The positivity in-time of CHIKV RNA in urine will be evaluated in comparison with viremia. Patients with suspected acute CHIKV infection will be asked (by written informed consent; annex 1) to provide urine samples within 72 hours after onset of disease, followed by urine samples on day 7, day 10, day 14 and three urine samples 3, 4 and 12 weeks after onset. They will be asked to provide serum samples within 72 hours after onset of disease, followed by serum samples on day 7, day 10, day 14. In total, twenty patients with an initial positive result of CHIKV RT-PCR on serum will be included for follow-up. The number of urine samples that will be tested is 140.
