Enhancing Memory to Facilitate Weight Loss: Tracking, Recording and Coaching
Overweight and ObesityThe objective of this application is to pilot test and evaluate the acceptability and efficacy of a program to facilitate weight loss by enhancing memory for a recently consumed meal.
Reducing Suicide Risk Associated With Weight Loss
Eating BehaviorSelf Harm1 moreThe purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy of an intervention aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and reducing risk factors associated with eating pathology, nonsuicidal self-injury, and suicidal behavior. We are also interested in assessing whether this intervention has the potential to prevent future symptoms of eating problems and self-harm urges and behaviors. The broader goal of this research is to identify factors that may help us better understand the prevention of self-harm behaviors and develop more effective treatments for these problems.
Auricular Acupressure Integrated With Mobile Device for Weight Reduction
ObesityWeight Loss2 moreObesity is a common global health problem. A three-arm randomised waitlist-controlled feasibility trial is proposed. A total of 59 subjects (19-21 subjects per arm) will be recruited. The three groups are AA plus smartphone application (experimental group); AA only (comparison group); and Waitlist control group. In the experimental group, seeds will be applied on six specific ear acupoints of the subjects by the researcher. Subjects will be requested to apply pressure on the acupoints thrice per day. They will install a smartphone App which will send out regular reminders for pressing, allow the subjects to input the number of bowel open, compliance rate, and difficulties entered during the process for timely advice. The total treatment period will be 8 weeks. Outcome measures will be conducted at baseline and postintervention at 8 weeks, including obesity and anthropometric index, leptin concentration and adiponectin level. Patient satisfaction towards the therapy, the use of the smartphone application and the implementation of the treatment protocol will be determined.
Time Restricted Feeding on Weight Loss and Cardio-protection (TREATY Trial)
ObesityTime Restricted Feeding2 moreTime restricted feeding (TRF) is a novel type of intermittent calorie restriction diet that involves eating a daily period of 8 hours or less. This is a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the effect of time restricted feeding (TRF) on weight loss and cardiometabolic risk factors in obese adults over 12 months compared to continuous energy restriction (CER).

Efficacy of Diet and Hypnotic Suggestions or Telemedicine in Obesity Management
ObesityWeight LossThe aim of the study is the assessment of the effectiveness of medical nutrition therapy (MNT) among obese patients, including a well-balanced low-calories diet, an individual dietary counseling conducted by dietitians and supported by telemedicine (T) or hypnotic suggestions (HS). The study will cover a group of 90 adult patients, both sexes, with obesity (BMI ≥30 kg/m^2) undergoing MNT a dietetic treatment. Three arms are planned in the study scheme, according to the scheme: Group 1 - individual MNT (30 people); Group 2 -individual MNT and T (30 people); Group 3 - individual MNT and HS (30 people). The authors hope that the results of the study will allow to develop a new model of the most effective management of obesity, resulting in weight reduction and maintaining this effect over time. The results obtained during the study will also allow to assess the impact of the therapy applied on lifestyle changes, dietary habits and the knowledge about the disease among obese patients.
Effects of Self-conditioning Techniques in Promoting Weight Loss in Patients With Obesity. A Randomized...
ObesityThe investigators hypothesized that hypnosis is an alternative technique that could be applied to help patients with obesity to lose weight. The possibility that a self-conditioning technique (self-hypnosis) added to traditional approach (diet, exercise and behavioral recommendations) will be effective in determining weight loss with respect to the traditional approach in subjects with a body mass index (BMI) between 35 and 50 kg/m2 will be studied.
Effects of Moderate Consumption of Lean Fish on Weight Loss
ObesityOverweightthe aim of present study is to compare the specific effects moderate consumption of lean fish on weight loss of healthy obese and overweight female adults, while participants follow energy-restricted diets also to investigate the effects of this intervention on carbohydrate and lipid profiles, as cardiometabolic risk factors.
Effects of Almond Versus Pistachio on Weight Loss
ObesityOverweightThe purpose of the current study is comparing the effect of almond and pistachio, as the two common types of nuts, consumption on healthy obese and overweight female who following a hypocaloric diet for 12 weeks. The secondary aim of the current study is to evaluate of these two type of nuts on other cardiometabolic risk factors.
