Treatment of Oral Lichen Planus With Paeoniflorin and Photodynamic Therapy

Oral Lichen Planus

Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a common chronic inflammatory disease of the oral mucosa and is considered a precancerous condition. It is characterized by white reticular changes in the oral mucosa, which can progress to erosions and cause pain in severe cases. The pathogenesis of OLP is still unclear, but it is believed to be a T-lymphocyte-mediated autoimmune disease. Currently, only symptomatic treatments are available, and there is no definitive cure. In this project, we plan to use TCM differentiation to categorize OLP patients and conduct a randomized controlled clinical trial to demonstrate the enhanced therapeutic effect of paeoniflorin combined with photodynamic therapy for OLP. The implementation of this project will provide new insights into the clinical management of OLP, improve our understanding of the treatment mechanisms, and have important theoretical and clinical implications.

Examining the Efficacy of a Virtual Reality Cognitive Remediation Program for People Living With...

Psychotic DisordersSchizophrenia1 more

Individuals living with a psychotic disorder often experience changes to their thinking and social skills that can lead to challenges with work, school, relationships and living independently. One intervention to target these areas is cognitive remediation therapy, which can be delivered in virtual reality to help apply the skills and strategies learned to day-to-day life. Over the past few years, our team has co-developed a cognitive remediation program in virtual reality with healthcare professionals and people with lived experiences of psychosis. The current trial tests the feasibility and efficacy of this cognitive remediation program in virtual reality at improving thinking skills, social skills, and daily life functioning.

Effect of Mediterranean Diet in Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Inflammatory Bowel Disease

The effects of diet on inflammatory bowel disease is an under-studied area of research. The investigators are interested in further investigating the role that diet contributes to inflammatory bowel disease severity. The investigators will collect blood and stool samples from patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) before and after diet changes. The stool samples will be analyzed using metabolomics and microbiome analysis to determine changes after the new diet has been implemented. The investigators will then compare changes in the patient's overall disease state by measuring markers of inflammation including C-reactive protein (CRP) and fecal calprotectin to determine how this diet affects the disease state.

A Study of Nemtabrutinib Plus Venetoclax vs Venetoclax + Rituximab (VR) in Second-line (2L) + Relapsed/Refractory...

LeukemiaLymphocytic9 more

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability and to confirm the dose of nemtabrutinib in combination with venetoclax in participants with R/R CLL/SLL. The primary study hypotheses are that the combination of nemtabrutinib plus venetoclax is superior to VR with respect to progression-free survival (PFS) per 2018 International Workshop on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (iwCLL) criteria as assessed by blinded independent central review (BICR).

Mirror Therapy Versus PNF on LE Function in Stroke

Stroke

Many rehabilitation strategies are being implemented to treat stroke. Constraint-induced movement therapy and robotics are two potentially useful treatment options for rehabilitation. Range of motion exercises, PNF, mirror therapy is also used. Fitness training, high-intensity treatment, and repetitive-task training are all promising strategies that might help improve elements of gait. Repeated task training may also help with transfer functions
