Turkish Version of Telehealth Usability Questionnaire (TUQ)

Health Care AcceptorHealth Knowledge3 more

The Telehealth Usability Questionnaire (TUQ) was developed to evaluate the usability of telehealth applications and services. The Turkish validity and reliability study of the scale, originally in English, has not been conducted before. The aim of this study is to develop the Turkish version of the Telehealth Usability Questionnaire (TUQ), which is a new stability tool, and to report its reliability assessment.

Frequency of Florid Hyperthyroidism In Patients Taking Iodinated Salt

Thyroid Dysfunction

Thyroxin a vital hormone for life lot of body functions depend on proper functioning on pituitary thyroid axis. it exists in two major forms Thyroxine (T4) and (T3) , each of them containing two iodine atoms on their inner (tyrosine) ring. Synthesis of reasonable quantities of thyroid hormones requires adequate iodine intake to allow sufficient thyroidal uptake. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommendation for daily intake of iodine is 150 μg for children ≥12 years and adults, and 250 μg for pregnant and lactating women. However as we know optimum amount of iodine is required for normal pituitary thyroid axis like wise excessive intake may cause over functioning of axis hence over production of hormone that can be manifested both clinically and biochemically. This study is designed to observe the frequency of over hyperthyroidism in patients taking iodinated salt.

Evaluating the Impact of Incentives on Clinical Trial Participation

HivAging1 more

The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of incentives on clinical trial participation. 1) characterize key stakeholders' views on and assessment of incentives, 2) reach consensus among stakeholders on the factors to be considered when choosing incentives and their relative importance, 3) pilot test using vignettes for incentive decision making. We hypothesize that potential study participants make trade-offs regarding the characteristics of a research study when deciding whether to volunteer. This amendment is to document IRB reliance between UCR and USF.

Allergology: Information, Data and Knowledge Organization

Food AllergyPeanut Allergy

Digital technology is essential in the field of health, via connected objects, the medical Internet or even telemedicine; and the info-communication practices (ways of getting information and communicating) of the actors go through digital devices. In addition, at present, the mass of activity documents to be managed in healthcare establishments and an abundant supply of documentary resources in health, available on the Internet, lead to infobesity, information pollution, and work overload. These phenomena lead to an increase in the time spent searching for relevant information and even to the burnout of healthcare professionals. A contextualization of the information communication systems through which the practices of health professionals pass therefore seems necessary so that the tools for managing, extracting and organizing knowledge can support these actors in their work. In the field of allergies, there are many players, and the information that is useful to them is abundant and heterogeneous. This study is based on the hypothesis that a knowledge organization model, developed from existing practices, could make it possible to obtain satisfactory results when searching for information, and be integrated into the daily practices of actors by linking up with other already existing systems and tools.

MR Fingerprinting for Vestibular Schwannomas

Vestibular Schwannoma

MR Fingerprinting (MRF) will be performed in patients who will be treated with Gamma Knife radio surgery for a vestibular schwannoma before the intervention. Fifty patients will be included with a vestibular schwannoma of minimum 1cm in size. During follow-up, response of the tumor to radiosurgery will be evaluated for each patient with MRI. The aim of the study is to find patterns of vestibular schwannomas in MRF data which correlate with the type of response to radio surgery, i.e. tumor control after radiosurgery, further tumor growth despite radiosurgery, cystic transformation after radiosurgery.

The Temporal Cellular Landscape of the Adaptive Immune System in Patients With Acute Stroke

StrokeAcute

Despite novel acute therapies the global burden of stroke remains high worldwide. Targeting the immune response after stroke has the potential to improve recovery in all stroke patients. Experimental studies suggest important roles for T-lymphocytes, especially anti-inflammatory regulatory T cells, in the evolution of stroke and neurological deficit. Objectives of this study are to either confirm or refute the hypothesis that a subset of brain regulatory T cells exists in humans and expands after stroke and to identify immunological biomarkers that can be used in stroke clinical trials targeting the adaptive immune system.

Frequency Analysis of the Ultrasound Images in Rotator Cuff Tendon

Rotator Cuff Injuries

Previous studies used spatial frequency analysis of tendon ultrasound images and considered that the parameters can reflect the micro-structure of the tendon. In this study, we try to recruit and analysis the rotator cuff tendon in healthy adults with different ages and different equipment to explore the the normal range and differences of spatial frequency parameters. The hypotheses of this study are (1) the young and the elderly would have significantly different spatial frequency value; and (2) there would be significant different results between different equipment.
