Personalized medicine methods in the management of type 1 diabetes

The objective of this study is to research the relationship between maternal exposure to environmental factors and fetal congenital heart disease in a community-based case-control study.

Recently, the occurrence and potential impact of pituitary dysfunction after aSAH has gained increasing interest. Several studies have demonstrated pituitary dysfunction after SAH suggesting that pituitary dysfunction may be a contributing factor for residual symptoms after SAH. This is an observational multicentric study aimed to test the prevalence of thyroid abnormalities, other neuroendocrinological dysfunction and their influence on outcome of patients affected by aSAH.

Making a weaning decision for a patient on a mechanical ventilator is an important clinical issue. The most common index to predict successful weaning is the rapid shallow breathing index (RSBI), however, the accuracy of RSBI to predict successful weaning have been questioned. The investigators proposed a new mathematical model and algorithm, called WIN, which capture the essential feature of the variability ruling the physiological dynamics to provides better perdition to wean than RSBI.

To investigate the risk factors and prediction biomarkers of chronic disease in adults aged 35-74 years.

SafeSed prototype monitors respiratory parameters by tracking chest movements with optical and accelerometer markers. The respiratory parameters are compared to respiratory parameters measured by a spirometer and a capnograph.

This research will focus on young women between the ages of 18-38 who underwent a heart operation and their life experiences. This research will focus on these life events and the paradigm of these women being raised as "heart sick," and consequently lacking self-esteem (Frigiola, Bull, & Wray, 2014; Hickey et al., 2012). Most qualitative studies focusing on the quality of life compare men and women, completely ignoring women's body image and the experience of womanhood (Hickey et al., 2012; Hövels-Gürich et al., 2007; Sarikouch, et al., 2013). This study aims to focus on women's stories about their life experiences and the influence of surgery(ies) on their daily life using an the qualitative phenomenological approach.
