Rituximab and Bendamustine in Very Elderly Patients or Elderly Medically Non Fit Patients With Aggressive...

Aggressive Lymphoma

Bendamustine is a well tolerable and very active agent in the treatment of Non Hodgkin's lymphoma. However, in particular in aggressive B-cell lymphoma, only very few, small studies have investigated the role of bendamustine in the treatment algorithm. The aim of the current B-R-ENDA trial is to investigate efficacy and toxicity of the combination treatment of bendamustine and subcutaneous rituximab in old patients or in elderly patients with high comorbidity who do not qualify for a CHOP like treatment. The results of this study will form the basis of a larger, prospective randomized phase III trial.

Oxytocin, Alcohol Craving, and Intimate Partner Aggression

Alcohol Use

Alcohol use disorders (AUD) and intimate partner aggression (IPA) frequently co-occur. There are significant health and economic burdens associated with AUD and co-occurring IPA, and little empirical data to guide treatment efforts. The neuropeptide oxytocin may help mitigate both AUD and IPA. However, clinical data examining oxytocin's effects on human aggression is scant. The proposed study is designed to address these gaps in the literature by utilizing a human laboratory paradigm to test the effects of oxytocin on craving and aggression among couples with AUD and co-occurring IPA.

Violence Prevention for Adolescent Girls With Prior Maltreatment

PTSDDepression2 more

The purpose of the study is to adapt and test an evidence-based trauma treatment program for adolescent girls with histories of child maltreatment. The study adapts the CBITS (Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools) program for delivery within community-based settings for use with girls assessed and/or served by the child welfare system. The study utilizes a randomized clinical trial that evaluates the effectiveness of the adapted program entitled GAIN (Girls Aspiring toward Independence) compared with a usual care group. Primary outcomes of the intervention are mental health symptoms such as PTSD, depression, and internalizing and externalizing behaviors. Other outcomes include aggressive behaviors, revictimization, and aggression-related beliefs, self-efficacy, and behavioral intentions.
