Laser Acupuncture for Postpartum Weight Retention
Postpartum Weight RetentionObjective: To determine the therapeutic effect of acupuncture on postpartum weight retention. Methods: 66 subjects after delivery with postpartum weight retention will be randomly divided into laser acupuncture and control group. A single-blind clinical trial will be conducted and the subjects will be treated with verum or sham laser acupuncture 5 sessions per week. After about 3 weeks of treatment, the differences of the subjects' body weight, body mass index, and waist circumference will be analyzed with ANOVA between laser acupuncture and control group.
Timing of Meals for Weight Loss
OverweightObesity1 moreWhile eating the majority of energy earlier in the day appears to have a positive effect on weight and cardiometabolic outcomes, it is not clear how eating earlier in the day influences other behaviors that have a circadian rhythm (sleep), other energy balance behaviors important for weight loss (physical activity), and self-reported feelings of appetite control (hunger and fullness). Thus the purpose of this study is to examine the influence of timing of eating on sleep patterns, physical activity, and self-reported feelings of appetite control. It is hypothesized that those who eat the majority of their calories earlier in the day will have greater weight loss than those who eat the majority later in the day.
The $Ensible Weight Program: An Intervention Tailored for Low Income Women
Weight LossThe purpose of this study is to learn if a weight loss program especially designed to address food insecurity is more effective compared to a standard weight loss program.
Efficacy and Safety of a Fungal Chitosan on the Body Weight Reduction in Overweight and Obesity...
Overweight and Obese Volunteers. The prevalence of overweight and obesity is getting more and more important in developed as well as in emerging countries. It can be defined according to the degree of fat storage by measurement of fat mass. No clinical studies have been conducted so far for that intended use on KiOnutrime®-Cs, a fungal chitosan from the mycelium of non-genetically modified Aspergillus niger. KiOnutrime®-Cs has been recognized as substantially equivalent to animal chitosan. The purpose of this clinical trial is to determine if KiOnutrime®-Cs-containing medical device, which is a CE-marked medical device manufactured by KitoZyme, has an effect on body weight reduction after 3 months of intake in overweight and obese men and women. Furthermore, effects on anthropometric measurements, body fat mass percentage, serum lipids and safety parameters will be investigated.
FitLink: Improving Weight Loss Maintenance by Using Digital Data to Provide Support and Accountability...
ObesityOverweight2 moreMost adults in the U.S. are overweight or obese and find maintenance of weight loss difficult. This study is designed to aid in the development of a lifestyle modification program that can facilitate weight loss maintenance, without requiring long-term visits to a clinic for maintenance treatment.
Insole-based Visual Biofeedback for Weight-bearing in Total Hip Replacement
Total Hip ReplacementVisual Biofeedback1 moreThe study investigates the effects of visual biofeedback, based on a sensorized system for the dynamic evaluation of the plantar pressure versus rehabilitation with traditional verbal instructions of the physiotherapist, on weight bearing distribution in patients who underwent first total hip replacement. The study is a randomized controlled trial, with parallel groups, without blinding.
Pilot Study on the Impact of the Mediterranean Diet and Intermittent Fasting
Body Weight ChangesThis clinical trial attempts to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of an intervention combining intermittent fasting and the Mediterranean diet guidelines vs an comparative intervention combining intermittent fasting but using the UK dietary guidelines. Participants will be randomised to these intervention using a parallel design. Weight change and blood lipids will be assessed.
Does Mindfulness Enhance BMI in Obese Adolescents Enrolled in the Bright Bodies Weight Management...
Pediatric ObesityParticipants will be randomized to an evidence-based healthy lifestyle program alone or a healthy lifestyle program with mindfulness meditation added. Healthy Mom Zone: A Gestational Weight Gain Management Intervention
Overweight and ObesityPhysical Activity3 moreThe purpose is to establish feasibility of delivering an individually-tailored, behavioral intervention to manage gestational weight gain [GWG] that adapts to the unique needs and challenges of overweight/obese pregnant women [OW/OBPW] and will utilize control systems engineering to optimize this intervention; in other words, make this intervention manage GWG in OW/OBPW as effectively and efficiently as possible.
