Comparison Between Two Ss-OCT Biometry

Cataract Senile

Since recently a second swept-source optical coherence tomography (ss-OCT) optical biometry device was launched (Anterion, Heidelberg Engineering). Aim of this study is a retrospective data collection of patients who were measured with both ss-OCT optical biometry devices and to assess the limits of agreement of the two devices. Retrospective comparison of two ss-OCT biometry devices concerning comparability of measurements of axial eye length, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness and keratometry.

Optical Coherence Tomography of Nerve Fiber Layer and Ganglion Cell Complex After Cataract Extraction...

CataractPrimary Open-angle Glaucoma

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) for retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) and ganglion cell complex (GCC) is done before and after cataract extraction in patients with or without primary open angle glaucoma (POAG)

Capsular Outcomes of Pediatric Cataract Surgery With Primary Intraocular Lens Implantation

Capsular ContractureImplant1 more

Lens capsular often changes after pediatric cataract surgery, causing complications such as anterior capsulerhexis shrinkage, visual axis opacification (VAO), zonular dehiscence and so on. The aim of study was to prospectively investigate the capsular outcomes of pediatric cataract surgery with primary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.

Intelligent Evaluation and Supervision of Cataract Surgery

Cataract

Research purpose: intelligent identification and evaluation of cataract surgery steps Research methods: A total of 9 items (such as gender, age, visual acuity, etc.) were extracted from the surgical videos of senile cataract patients and the clinical data recorded by the electronic medical record system. The machine learning algorithm 3D-CNN was applied to identify the 11 steps in cataract surgery and the pictures (blank pictures) without instrument manipulation on the eyeball during the operation. Six key cataract surgery steps were scored using deep learning algorithms (probability smoothing window and softmax). We employ precision, precision, recall, and F1-score to evaluate the model's performance for recognizing surgical steps. To evaluate the reliability of the model's scoring of surgical steps, we used a human-machine comparison method to calculate the agreement (kappa value) between machine and expert scores.

Early Vitrectomy for Endophthalmitis After Cataract Surgery

EndophthalmitisCataract2 more

Post-operative infectious endophthalmitis is devastating condition that causes a diffuse intraocular inflammation and may lead to blindness. Acute post-operative endophthalmitis usually presented within 6 weeks of intraocular procedure and diagnosis is confirmed by clinical examination and by the aid of B-scan ultrasonography.

Evaluation of Visual Outcomes in Patients With Complex Corneas Implanted With the IC-8 IOL

CataractPresbyopia1 more

The purpose of this study is to evaluate visual outcomes in patients with complex corneas who have been previously implanted with the IC-8 IOL after cataract removal.

Ocular Coherence Tomography During Cataract Assessment

Cataract SenileMacula Hole3 more

Many patients will have underlying maculopathy present when undergoing cataract surgery, which are not visible on fundoscopy alone. Knowledge of this underlying pathology will allow an improved consenting process and discussion with the patient regarding the risks, visual prognosis and recovery following cataract surgery. Incidental findings in the fellow eye would also allow for improved diagnosis and management of these patients without adding significant additional time to specialist high volume cataract assessment clinics.

Glistenings and PCO Evaluation for the Envista MX60

Cataract

Posterior capsule opacification (PCO) and glistenings development is among the primary reasons for sub-optimal visual capacity following cataract extraction surgery. Primary objective of this study is to evaluate the incidence of PCO and glistenings of the popular envista MX-60 intraocular lens (Bausch + Lomb) in a random sample of cataract patients who underwent phacoemulsification at least 1 year prior to their enrollment at the study
