Dry Eye Syndrome Description During Cataract Surgery, With Multimodal Analysis of the Ocular Surface...
Dry Eye SyndromeOcular Surface DiseaseThe main objective is to describe the characteristics of dry eye syndrome before and after surgery at one month of cataract surgery, using a multimodal analysis of the ocular surface. The secondary objectives are to evaluate: Predictive factors of dry eye syndrome during cataract surgery: The characteristics of dry eye syndrome Implications for the patient's quality of life
Clinical Evaluation of Modified 2.2mm Microincision Phacoemulsification for Age-related Cataract...
CataractThis study is a single-center, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial with the following objectives: to compare the incidence of post-operative descemet membrane detachment (DMD) in phacoemulsification surgery between modified and conventional 2.2mm microincision.
Comparative Study of the Cornea/Anterior Segment OCT CASIA2 and the RTVue XR OCT Avanti With AngioVue...
GlaucomaCataractThis study is a prospective comparative, randomized, single center study to gather agreement and precision data in all subjects.
Corticosteroid Injection Combined With Cataract Surgery in Diabetic Eyes.
Diabete Type 2Cataract2 moreThe investigators aim in this study to investigate the effect of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide injection on the development of macular edema and the progression of diabetic retinopathy. Whether this injection hastens cataract surgery results or not. The investigators will categorize the participants into two groups: the case group who will receive the injection at the end of the surgery, and the control group who will have routine cataract surgery with no extra injections.
The Femtosecond Laser in Residency Training (FLIRT) Pilot Study
CataractIntraocular Lens ImplantationThis pilot study aims to primarily assess the rate of complication of anterior vitrectomy for patients undergoing femtosecond laser-assisted (FLA) cataract extraction and intraocular lens placement (CEIOL) compared to manual CEIOL, when performed by resident physicians under direct attending supervision. In this pilot study, the investigators aim to assess what the incidence of anterior vitrectomy is for each group, in order to better understand the sample size needed to assess whether there is a difference between these two groups. Secondarily, it will gather preliminary data on safety and refractive outcomes for patients undergoing these interventions.
Clinical Trial on Anti-inflammatory Effect of Low-Molecular Weight Heparin in Pediatric Cataract...
InflammationThe purpose of this study is to determine if intraocular infusion of low-molecular weight heparin (enoxaparin) influences postoperative inflammation following pediatric cataract surgery with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.
Guangdong Uptake of Surgery Trial
CataractThe purpose of this study is: To determine whether an educational intervention designed based on studies in the area is effective in increasing acceptance of surgery and presentation to the hospital, when adjusting for a number of potential determinants of service uptake; To assess short-term impact of the educational intervention on knowledge about cataract and attitudes toward locally-available surgical services.
S0000B: Vitamin E and/or Selenium in Preventing Cataract and Age-Related Macular Degeneration in...
CataractMacular DegenerationRATIONALE: Aging may affect a person's vision. Vitamin E and/or selenium may help prevent cataracts or age-related macular degeneration in men receiving these drugs as part of a clinical trial for the prevention of prostate cancer. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying vitamin E and/or selenium to see how well they work in preventing cataract and age-related macular degeneration in men enrolled on SELECT (SWOG-S0000).
