The purpose of this study is: To determine whether an educational intervention designed based on studies in the area is effective in increasing acceptance of surgery and presentation to the hospital, when adjusting for a number of potential determinants of service uptake; To assess short-term impact of the educational intervention on knowledge about cataract and attitudes toward locally-available surgical services.

The purpose of this study is to determine if intraocular infusion of low-molecular weight heparin (enoxaparin) influences postoperative inflammation following pediatric cataract surgery with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.

This study is being conducted to show that indomethacin is at least as effective as ketorolac for the prevention of ocular inflammation following cataract surgery.

Purpose: Study the effect of nepafenac ophthalmic suspension 0.1% to prevent post-operative cystoid macular edema following uncomplicated cataract surgery Participants: Patients having cataract surgery at UNC who meet eligibility criteria Procedures (methods): Patients will have pre and post-operative vision measured and optical coherence tomography (OCT) testing, also cataract density and intraoperative phacoemulsification parameters including ultrasound power and ultrasound time will be measured. Patients will be randomized into two groups. Group 1 will be treated with standard post-operative cataract management. Group 2 will be treated with standard post-operative cataract management plus topical nepafenac for one month. Post-operative macular thickness will be studied by analyzing the visual acuity and OCT measurements at two months post surgery.

The Best Way to Improve the Near Visual Acuity After ZXR00 IOL Implantation

This is a prospective, multi-center, randomized comparative study. The purpose of the study is to evaluate and compare the objective and subjective visual outcomes of different types of functional intraocular lenses (IOLs) in patients.

Goals of the study are to evaluate how peri-operative versus intra-operative anti-VEGF intravitreous injections affect visual acuity (BCVA) in patients with persistent diabetic macular edema who are undergoing cataract surgery; and to evaluate how peri-operative versus intra-operative anti-VEGF intravitreous injections affect OCT CSF thickness and total number of postoperative injections in patients with diabetic macular edema who are undergoing cataract surgery.

To determine if the use of Xiidra® reduces ocular surface inflammation in preoperative and postoperative cataract patients.
