Oxaliplatin and Capecitabine in Patients With Unresectable Cholangiocarcinoma

Cancer of the GallbladderCancer of the Biliary Tract

This is a Phase II trial of the combination of oxaliplatin (Eloxatin) and capecitabine (Xeloda), known as XELOX, in participants with unresectable or recurrent cholangiocarcinoma, including carcinoma of the gallbladder or biliary tract, both intrahepatic and extrahepatic. Participants may be either previously untreated or treated with chemotherapy. Participants will accrue to two strata based on pre-treatment status; separate response rates and statistical operating characteristics will be applied to each stratum. The primary objective is to determine the objective response rate (complete plus partial) of XELOX in this population. Secondary objectives include determining toxicity, stable disease rates, and median and overall survival of participants treated with this combination.

Gemcitabine and Capecitabine in Treating Patients With Advanced and/or Inoperable Cholangiocarcinoma...

Extrahepatic Bile Duct CancerGallbladder Cancer

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine and capecitabine, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one chemotherapy drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining gemcitabine with capecitabine in treating patients who have advanced and/or inoperable cholangiocarcinoma or carcinoma (cancer) of the gallbladder.

Gemcitabine and Cisplatin for Gallbladder and Biliary Tract Cancer

Gallbladder CancerBiliary Tract Cancer

In the United States, the incidence of biliary tract cancer and gallbladder cancer has been estimated to be 6,000-8,000 patients per year. Currently, there is no standard therapy for these tumors once the disease has spread and is inoperable. Recent small studies with gemcitabine have shown a positive response rate. The investigators plan to test the combination of gemcitabine with cisplatin for biliary tract and gallbladder cancers.

Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Bile Duct, Gallbladder, or Pancreatic Cancer

Extrahepatic Bile Duct CancerGallbladder Cancer1 more

RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Motexafin gadolinium may increase the effectiveness of radiation therapy by making tumor cells more sensitive to treatment. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of radiation therapy plus motexafin gadolinium in treating patients with bile duct, gallbladder, or pancreatic cancer that cannot be removed surgically.

Study With Andes-1537 in Patients With Specific Types of Advanced Solid Tumor

TumorSolid5 more

The study is a Phase 1 Open-label Two-stage, Safety and Tolerability Study with Cancer Type-specific Cohorts, Evaluating Subcutaneous Administration of Andes-1537 for Injection in Patients with Advanced Solid Tumors that are Refractory to Standard Therapy or For Which No Standard Therapy Is Available. Patients with unresectable solid tumors that are refractory or have failed standard therapy and are deemed non-eligible or intolerant to further therapy or for which no standard therapy is available will be included in 5 cancer type-specific parallel cohorts. The following tumor types will be evaluated for potential inclusion in each cancer type-specific cohort: gallbladder & biliary tract carcinoma; cervical carcinoma; gastric carcinoma; pancreatic carcinoma, and colorectal carcinoma.

TAS-102 in Treating Advanced Biliary Tract Cancers

CholangiocarcinomaStage III Gallbladder Cancer AJCC v75 more

This phase II trial studies how well trifluridine/tipiracil hydrochloride combination agent TAS-102 (TAS-102) works in treating participants with biliary tract cancers that have spread to other places in the body. Drugs used in the chemotherapy, such as trifluridine/tipiracil hydrochloride combination agent TAS-102, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading.
