A Phase II Study of Irinotecan, Oxaliplatin, Plus TS-1 in Untreated Metastatic Gastric Cancer
Stomach NeoplasmsPatients will be treated with irinotecan (150mg/m2) followed by oxaliplatin (85mg/m2)on day 1 and S-1(80mg/m2/day) from day 1 to 14 every 3 weeks. Patients will receive up to a planned treatment of maximum 12 cycles of chemotherapy. Response assessement will be performed every 2 cycles of chemotherapy.
Magnetic-Targeted Doxorubicin in Treating Patients With Cancer Metastatic to the Liver
MetastasesNeoplasm11 moreMTC-DOX is Doxorubicin or DOX, a chemotherapy drug, that is adsorbed, or made to "stick", to magnetic beads (MTCs). MTCs are tiny, microscopic particles of iron and carbon. When DOX is added to MTCs, DOX attaches to the carbon part of the MTCs. MTC-DOX is directed to and deposited in the area of a tumor, where it is thought that it then "leaks" through the blood vessel walls. Once in the surrounding tissues, it is thought that Doxorubicin becomes "free from" the magnetic beads and will then be able to act against the tumor cells. The iron component of the particle has magnetic properties, making it possible to direct MTC-DOX to specific tumor sites in the liver by placing a magnet on the body surface. It is hoped that MTC-DOX used with the magnet may target the chemotherapy drug directly to liver tumors and provide a treatment to patients with cancers that have spread to the liver.

Stomach CancerGall Bladder Cancer3 moreThe purpose with this study is to evaluate treatment with radio chemotherapy (oxaliplatin and capecitabine) given concommitant with radiotherapy in patients with gastrointestinal tumors. The trial consists ot two separate studies; CORGI-U in patients with stomach- bile ducts- gallbladder and pancreas cancer, and CORGI-L in patients with colorectal cancer. CORGI-U will be designed as a phase-I-II-study,in which the first part will be a chemotherapy dose finding study, followed by a phase II part to establish response rates. All subjects receives radiotherapy concommitant. CORGI-L is a phase II trial, in which patients are treated with chemotherapy at fixed doses with radiotherapy concommitant.

Gastric CancerThis study will evaluate the disease free survival rate of a combination of capecitabine [Xeloda] and oxaliplatin (XELOX) with trastuzumab [Herceptin] in patients with resectable gastric cancer. The combination of Xeloda (orally, 1000 mg/m2 on day 1-14 of every cycle) and Herceptin (intravenously, 8 mg/kg loading dose, then 6 mg/kg on days 1-14 of every cycle) will be administered for three cycles prior to surgery to resect the tumor. If complete resection, R0 or microscopic residual tumor R1 is achieved, patients will continue with three cycles of XELOX and Herceptin and then for completion of 12 months treatment with Herceptin alone. Oxaliplatin will be administered intravenously at a dose of 130 mg/m2 on day 1 in every cycle. The anticipated time on study drug will be 12 months.

Malignant Neoplasm of StomachSecondary Malignant Neoplasm of Peritoneum1 morePatients with histological proven gastric cancer (including cancer of the esophagogastric junction (AEG)) and synchronous peritoneal carcinomatosis, who fulfill the inclusion and exclusion criteria, can be recruited in this study. There are two treatment groups (A and B). The chemotherapy applied intravenously is the same in both groups and is approved for the treatment of gastric cancer. Patients with negative or unknown HER-2 status will be administered Epirubicin, Oxaliplatin and Capecitabine (EOX). Patients with positive HER-2 status will be treated with Cisplatin, Capecitabine and Trastuzumab (CCT). The chemotherapy is followed by surgical cytoreduction in both groups. Patients randomized into group B will be treated with an intraperitoneal (in the abdominal cavity) chemoperfusion with Mitomycin C and Cisplatin . Patients in both groups receive 3 cycles of postoperative chemotherapy within 4-12 weeks after the surgical procedure and are followed up for 30 months. If progress of the tumor is detected the patient will no longer be treated according to the study therapy. Patients of group B may get a HIPEC intervention without surgical cytoreduction if contraindication to the drugs applied can be excluded.
