Efficacy and Safety of Topical Cysteamine for Postinflammatory Hyperpigmentation

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a common pigmentary skin disorder that is refractory to treatment. The treatment for postinflammatory hyperpigmentation is limited. Recent studies have shown that the topical skin care product cysteamine cream has a significant decrease in melanin index without obvious side effects in other dark spots such as melasma. The goal of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of topical cysteamine in the treatment of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

All early breast cancer patients are offered adjuvant breast radiation therapy (RT) after breast conserving surgery for an early breast cancer. Breast cancer is heterogeneous, and selected patients have a very low gain from RT, whilst they still have risk of acute and late side effects from RT. This trial will try identify selection criteria for low risk breast cancer patients who can safely omit adjuvant RT without unacceptable high risk of local failure.

Brightening Cream and Lasers in Post-sclerotherapy Hyperpigmentation

The treatment of leg veins and varicosis with sclerotherapy is one of the most frequently performed medical intervention in the western world. The most common local side effects of this treatment are hyperpigmentations caused by hemosiderin deposition in the skin as well as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Although skin hyperpigmentation after sclerotherapy is a common over several months up to years lasting side-effect with a strong aesthetic impact, scanty data exist about treatment options. Quality-Switched (QS) lasers are efficient in the removal of exogenous and endogenous pigments, such as tattoos as well as epidermal and dermal melanin deposits. The laser light is absorbed by pigment particles, leading to a fragmentation of these particles by a photothermal and photoacoustic effect. Smaller particles can be then phagocyted by macrophages, and transported via the lymphatic system into the lymph nodes. Furthermore, the positive effect of QS lasers in the management of cutaneous siderosis in stasis dermatitis and after sclerotherapy has been described in several cases. Triple cream including hydroquinone, tretinoin and a topical corticosteroid (eg dexamethasone), is the first line therapy in the treatment of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This randomized controlled study aims to evaluate the efficiency of two well-known depigmentation methods (QS laser and triple cream) for treatment of post sclerotherapy hyperpigmentation, compared with a control group performing no treatment.

This study was conducted to determine safety and efficacy of topically applied cream containing combination of niacinamide, arbutin, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract for its skin brightening effect on post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation among the Malaysian population. The study duration is 20 weeks and the skin assessment will be carried out at baseline, week 4, week 8, week 12, week 16 and week 20.The main questions this study aims to answer are: To determine the efficacy of topical cream containing natural plant extracts, niacinamide, and arbutin for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation among Malaysians. This study aims to investigate the safety of serum product containing low dose of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) i.e. 1% Glycolic acid and Lactic acid and Polyglutamate acid derivatives (PGA) for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation skin in Malaysia. The study duration is 8 weeks and the skin assessment will be carried out at baseline, week 4 and week 8.The main questions this study aims to answer are: To investigate the safety of serum containing low concentration AHA (1% Glycolic acid and Lactic acid) and PGA for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation skin among Malaysian. CS5_3 aims to evaluate the tolerance and to adjust the mode of administration of 4 different conditions of cryotherapy treatments applied on the brown spots of the face and hands with 3 prototypes. A brown spot is defined as solar or senile lentigo and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Each treatment corresponds to a combination of a specific sequence of a cryogenic spray and of a frequency of application. The study will evaluate 3 prototypes : Prototype 1 : SN from (816-v1 001) to (816-v1 100) Prototype 2 : SN from (816-v1 101) to (816-v1 150) Prototype 3 : SN from (816-v1 151) to (816-v1 200) Prototypes will be applied on the face and hands according to specific frequencies of application.

The primary objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of 1927nm non-ablative fractionated laser therapy to treat hyperpigmentation in patients ages 18-75 with Fitzpatrick Skin Phototypes V and VI and explore an effective, adjunctive pre- and post-procedural regimen to prevent iatrogenic dyspigmentation or scarring in this population.
