Evaluation of Pulmonary Doppler Signals in Patients With Systemic Sclerosis(SSc)

Systemic SclerosisPulmonary Hypertension

Doppler signals can be recorded from the lung parenchyma by means of a pulsed Doppler ultrasound system incorporating a special signal processing package- the Transthoracic Parametric Doppler (TPD) (Echosense Ltd., Haifa, Israel). Systemic sclerosis patients often develop pulmonary vascular disease leading to pulmonary hypertension. The TPD system may provide important insight into pulmonary blood vessels characteristics by the LDS (Lung Doppler Signals) signals that are related to pulmonary hypertension. The TPD performance in detecting PAH in SSc patients will be assessed in the study.

Hypertension Monitoring in Glioma Patients Treated With Bevacizumab

Glioma Patients

Prospective casecontrol study in glioma patients undergoing treatment with bevacizumab (Avastin). At present there are no data on the correlation between occurrence of arterial hypertension and clinical outcome in patients with glioma or anaplastic astrocytoma. We will investigate whether glioma patients developing hypertension under bevacizumab treatment have a better outcome in terms of progression free survival, response rate and overall survival than equally treated patients remaining normotensive. Moreover, we will describe the dynamics of change in blood pressure after administration of bevacizumab in those patients developing hypertension. Trial with medicinal product

Effects of Transcutaneous Vagal Nerve Stimulation on Hemodynamics Parameters

Hypertension

The vagal stimulation is a promising therapy for a lot of disorders as well as hemodynamic regulatory way. In order to minimize the harm of a surgery chip implantation, actually it was developing a non-invasive device that is able to stimulate the auricular branch of vagal nerve. It has been shown that trans-auricular vagal stimulation (tVNS) causes direct stimulation of the vagal nerve. However, there are still no strong evidences about it actions regarding the autonomic modulation. The aim of this study is to evaluate effects of tVNS on heart rate, blood pressure and the autonomic control in healthy and hypertensive subjects, at rest and after orthostatic position

iMedA: Improving MEDication Adherence Through Person-Centered Care and Adaptive Interventions

Hypertension

The aim of this study is to design, implement, and evaluate an adaptive personalized digital intervention, to be delivered through a mobile application, to increase medication adherence and self-care management for persons with hypertension. This is a collaborative project between Halmstad University and Region Halland in Halland county, Sweden. The project is divided into three steps: 1)Focus groups 2)pilot study 3)Longitudinal study. The design of the study is influenced by the Intervention Mapping technique, which is used for the design and development of health promotion programs. The investigators first conducted a systematic review in order to detect the determinants, behaviors to change, and implemented digital strategies in the previous studies. The result was drawn in the Matrix of Change Objectives to facilitate the mapping. Then through focus groups, the investigators are going to ascertain the needs of the Swedish context. Through what has been learned with these findings, digital interventions will be designed and developed to be delivered via mobile application. A pilot study is considered then to evaluate the feasibility and usability testing of digital intervention. Finally, a longitudinal study is designed to evaluate the effectiveness of the digital intervention in the longer term. The design is proposed to be an interrupted time series (ITS) approach which is considered to be the strongest quasi-experimental design that can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention.

The Association Between Serum β-hydroxybutyrate and Levels of Systemic Hypertension

HypertensionEssential1 more

In this research the investigators are looking for the direct relationship between Beta-hydroxybutyrate and hypertension. Since recent research showed a connection between exercise and hypertension, and diet control and hypertension. The investigators are studying the possible effect of beta-hydroxybutyrate levels on blood pressure control.
