Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Evaluating Kidney Function
HealthyRenovascular HypertensionRenovascular hypertension (RVH) is a potentially curable disease affecting 0.5-5 percent of patients with hypertension. The current diagnostic work-up of RVH involves a complex algorithm which includes doppler ultrasound, captopril renography and conventional angiography. Because of the expense, risk and inconvenience of this workup, patients may not be correctly diagnosed. Advances in MR technology present the opportunity to develop a single comprehensive test. This would combine an MR angiogram that provides anatomic information about the renal arteries, and an MR renogram that provides information about the functional impact of a stenosis as a cause of hypertension. Our main purpose is to test MR renography with and without an oral angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) combined with MR angiography against the reference standard of captopril radionuclide renography. Secondary goals of this study are to test whether hypoxia within ischemic kidneys affected by RVH is detectable by T2 weighted (Blood oxygen level dependent or BOLD) MRI. This is considered of value since such a test of oxygenation would further shorten and simplify the diagnostic MR test. Information gained from this study could lead to important changes in the diagnostic and pathophysiologic understanding of RVH.

Pigment Dispersion Syndrome With and Without Glaucoma
GlaucomaGlaucoma2 moreTo compare patients having PDS without and with OH or GL by documenting and following the clinical features and course of their disease and evaluating the patient's performance on a variety of diagnostic tests.

Effect of Covid-19 on Hypertension
COVID-19HypertensionIn this single center , retrospective study, 5355 covid patient were selected from 2020 to 2022, with recorded blood pressure before covid and recording after covid. Blood pressure before and after covid were compared, by pair T test.

Impact of a Plant-Based Diet on Indices of Cardiovascular Health in African Americans
Cardiovascular DiseasesHypertension2 moreThe role of diet in preventing hypertension and cardiovascular diseases in African Americans, who have a much higher risk of developing these diseases, is not well understood. Therefore, this project will investigate whether African Americans following a 100% plant-based diet have more optimal blood pressure, vascular function, and blood lipid profiles, along with lower systemic inflammation relative to African Americans following a typical American diet.

Interactions Between Antihypertensive Drugs and Drugs Prescribed in the Emergency Room
Drug InteractionsHypertensionDrug interactions (IFF) are events that occur when multiple drugs are administered at the same time to an individual. People with arterial hypertension generally require therapeutic regimens based on 2 or more drugs for their adequate control, which makes them patients with polypharmacy. When these patients require urgent medical attention, there is a risk that IFFs will occur between their base treatment and the drugs that are prescribed to solve the added condition. Objective. To determine the frequency of pharmacological interactions between antihypertensive regimens and drugs used in the emergency service of Hospital General de Zona No 51 (HGZ 51). Material and methods: Observational, descriptive, and prospective study. The participants will be eligible patients with systemic arterial hypertension treated in the emergency room of HGZ 51 in Gómez Palacio, Durango. Support systems will be used for clinical decision, to identify potential IFFs and to be able to classify them according to their mechanism (pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics) and severity. A descriptive statistical analysis will be carried out in the SPSS program using measures of frequency, dispersion and central tendency.

Epidemiological Study in Thai Participants With Hypertension

Epidemiology and Treatment Patterns of Paediatric PAH (Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension)
HypertensionPulmonaryTo describe the prevalence, incidence and current treatment and procedures patterns in a US pediatric population with PAH in MarketScan database during the period 2010-2013

Intra-abdominal Hypertension in Critically Ill Patients
Intra-Abdominal HypertensionAbdominal Compartment SyndromeThe aim of the proposed study is to determine the incidence and prevalence of intra-abdominal hypertension and abdominal compartment syndrome in consecutive intensive care admissions using broad inclusion criteria.

A Study to Understand the Treatment Patterns in Patients With Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension or...
HypertensionPulmonaryThe aim of this study is to understand the treatment patterns in patients with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) or Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH) during a switch of treatment to Adempas in real-life clinical practice. In addition, this study will describe patient demographics and reason for switching

U.S. CTEPH Registry
Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH)Pulmonary HypertensionThe U.S. CTEPH Registry is a multicenter, observational, U.S.-based study of the clinical course and treatment of patients diagnosed with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), WHO Group IV Classification for Pulmonary Hypertension. The mission of the Registry will be to promote a greater understanding of the prevalence, pathophysiology, evaluation, and treatment of patients with CTEPH through shared information, education, and collaborative investigation among pulmonary hypertension (PH) centers of excellence throughout the U.S.
