Deep Learning Algorithm for Traumatic Splenic Injury Detection and Sequential Localization

Spleen InjuryMachine Learning

Spleen laceration is a lethal abdominal trauma and usually be diagnosed by medical images such as computed tomography. Deep learning had been proved its usage in detect abnormalities in medical images. In this trial, we used de-identified registry databank to develop a novel deep-learning based algorithm to detect the spleen trauma and to identify the injury locations.

Eye Tracking Technology in the Diagnosis of Neurological Patients

Postcomatose Unawareness StateMinimally Conscious State8 more

Demonstrating that diagnostics of the state of consciousness and cognitive functions of patients with consciousness disorders performed using C-Eye X (based on eye-tracking technology) allows a more objective assessment of state of patients who were wrongly diagnosed based on popular methods using in a clinical practice (like behavioural scales on paper forms).

Digital Nerve Injury - a Case Control Study

Digital Nerve Injury

Case control study, investigating what hand function and sensory function do patients perform 3-10 years following digital nerve injury and repair. The aim is to investigate if hand function is more limited following digital nerve injury in the thumb, index- and little finger, compared to less unburdened sensory surfaces in the fingers. Secondary aim is to investigate the long term sensory function following digital nerve injury.

Tree Branch Penetrating Injury

Penetrating Injury Neck

Penetrating trauma to the neck can result in severe morbidity and mortality. Location of the injury dictates the appropriate clinical management. Challenging traumatic injuries require resourceful treatment options

Epidemiology of Speed Skating-related Injuries

Sports Injury

Speed skating is a sport in which there´s a lack of epidemiological studies. In line with the well-established model of sports injury prevention research proffered by van Mechelen, the first stage in this process is establishing the extent of the problem i.e. injury incidence, severity and burden. Through an online survey filled by semiprofessional athletes, it is posible to obtain all this important information. This way, it will be possible to fulfill a gap in the literature and take action in the near future in order to reduce the prevalence of injuries in this sport.

The Effects of Troponin I Surveillance Among Patients Undergoing Acute High-risk Abdominal Surgery...

AbdomenAcute4 more

Treatment of disorders such as gastrointestinal tract (GI) perforation, ischemia and obstruction often require acute high-risk abdominal surgery, which is associated with a high risk of complications such as myocardial injury after non-cardiac surgery (MINS) and mortality. The majority of patients with MINS will not experience any symptoms, and thus MINS remains undetected without routine troponin measurements. The investigators hypothesized that implementing surveillance with troponin I as a standard care might be useful as risk stratification, and that increased surveillance, examinations, and subsequent individually based medical interventions, might improve the outcomes for patients with MINS.

Ultrasound Markers of Organ Congestion in Severe Acute Kidney Injury

Acute Kidney InjuryFluid Overload1 more

Fluid overload is associated with adverse outcomes in patients with severe acute kidney injury. It remains unclear if fluid overload is merely a marker of disease severity or if organ congestion is a mediator of complications. Point-of-care ultrasound could be a modality used to assess organ congestion and its clinical implications. The objective of this study is to determine whether ultrasound markers of organ congestion are associated with major adverse kidney events in critically ill patients with severe acute kidney injury.

Study on Cerebral Protection of Dexmedetomidine for Patients With Traumatic Brain Injury

Traumatic Brain Injury

The aim of the study is to investigate whether dexmedetomidine could suppress catecholamine release into peripheral blood to prevent PSH attacks and to achieve neuroprotection.

Trauma Equivalency Study of the CORA® and TEG® 5000 Systems

Trauma

This study is being performed to obtain data about the CORA System when used in a trauma clinical setting. The CORA analyzer is a new device that is currently being tested in trauma clinical applications and is not yet cleared for this purpose by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for sale in the United States.
