Clinical Outcomes of Analgesia Methods in Patients With Hip Fracture
Hip FracturesThe goal of this study is to determine of clinical outcomes of analgesia methods. The primary outcomes are opioid consumption, static and dynamic visual analog scale (VAS) scores. Secondary outcomes are occurrence of side effects.
The Impact of Patient Safety Incidents on Patients' Quality of Life
Hip FracturesKnee FractureThis study estimates the impact of patient safety events on QoL in elective surgery patients using a secondary data set
Continuous Fascia Iliaca Compartment Block in Geriatric Hip Fracture
Hip FracturesAcute Pain Due to TraumaThe patient with hip fracture who has Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) ≥ 5 at rest or on movement will be indicated for USG FICB at Emergency Department or patient's ward. The aim of this prospective observation study was evaluated the efficacy and complications of cFICB in adult hip fracture preoperatively.
Life Improving Factors After a Hip Fracture
Hip FracturesOlder AdultsThe primary objective of the proposed research is to investigate the association between protein intake and nutritional status with bone health and physical functioning in older hip fracture patients. In addition, it will be investigated which patient characteristics and modifiable factors can predict mobility, clinical frailty, living situation and mortality. This study will be a 3-month prospective cohort study in adults aged 70 years and older with an acute hip fracture. This study will lead to knowledge about how protein intake and nutritional status in combination with patient characteristics can predict the degree of recovery (bone health and physical functioning) 3 months after the hip fracture. Knowledge on factors related to recovery can contribute to an improved and shorter rehabilitation in the future, which results in a reduction of health care costs.
Variations in Anesthesia Care for Hip Fracture Surgery
Hip FracturesAnesthesia1 moreThe investigators will use health administrative data to examine the variation of anesthesia type for hip fracture surgery, as well as sources of variation and predictors of variation.
Hip-Fracture Surgery on Patients in Clopidogrel Therapy
Hip FracturePatients in Clopidogrel therapy alone or in combination with acetylsalicylic acid (Dual Antiplatelet Therapy (DAPT) presenting with a hip-fracture represent the surgeon with the dilemma of putting the patient at risk of a major blood loss during and after surgery, or putting the patient at risk of a thromboembolic event after surgery. The investigators hypothesize that the risk of a major blood loss in patients that are still under the effect of Clopidogrel or DAPT during or after hip-fracture surgery is relatively low. The investigators have conducted a retrospective observational study on hip-fracture patients to test this hypothesis.
MobiChina - A Prospective Multicenter Cohort Study
Unstable FractureHip FractureThe study will assess the difference in functionality between early vs. standard mobilization after hip fracture in the Chinese population.
Tranexamic Acid in Hip Fracture Patients
Closed Fracture of HipThis is a randomized controlled trial comparing the use of tranexamic acid to placebo in patients admitted to hospital with a hip fracture.
Examining the Long-Term Risks of Oophorectomy
Coronary Heart DiseaseStroke5 moreAt the time of hysterectomy for benign disease, the overall health benefits of preserving ovarian function in a large population of women have not been established.
The Study of the Early Administration of Alendronate on Prevention of Bone Loss After Hip Fracture....
OsteoporosisTo determine whether administration of Alendronate early is more effective than late in the prevention of osteoporosis following a hip fracture
