Effects of ELDOA on Hamstring Tightness

Non-specific Low Back Pain

The purpose of this study is to find the effects of ELDOA in increasing hamstring length in patients with nonspecific low back pain. This research will bring awareness about the concept of ELDOA exercises among clinicians and people to understand its benefits for treating back pain issues. Further, it will provide an important addition to the evidence-based treatment intervention of ELDOA

GRAVITY System Therapy on Chronic Low Back Pain

Physical TherapyLow Back Pain1 more

The aim of the study was to examine the effect of GRAVITY system therapy on chronic disc-related pain in lumbar spine. Investigators made a hypothesis that patients who regularly perform core strengthening exercises based on gravity system will decrease pain and disability, and increase muscle strength in higher extent comparing to control group, that receive passive physical therapy.

Immediate Effect of Mulligan Two Leg Rotation and Bent Leg Raise Techniques on Hamstring Tightness...

Low Back PainHamstring Pulled

The aim of this study is to compare the immediate effect of mulligan's two leg rotation and bent leg raise for hamstring tightness, core muscle weakness in chronic low back pain, lumbar Range of motion. A randomized control trial is being conducted at Women Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences Abbottabad. It consisted of 68 participants with moderate chronic low back pain 4-6 on VAS scale, weak back extensors, and abdominal muscle weakness .and hamstring tightness. 34 patients in Group A is receiving moist heat for the hamstrings muscles prior the Mulligan Two leg rotation technique for 10mins .core muscle strenthening exercises for back extensors and abdominals. 34 patients in Group B is receiving moist heat for the hamstrings muscles prior the Mulligan Bent leg raise technique for 10 minutes.Study duration was of 6 months. Sampling technique being applied is purposive.Study includes patients with mechanical LBP more than 3 months.Tools being used in the study are Goniometer, Measuring tape, Pressure Biofeedback Unit, Visual analogue scale (VAS), Mulligan's belt. Data is being analyzed through SPSS 21.

The Effectiveness of Adding Cupping Therapy in Patients With Nonspecific Chronic Lumbar Pain

Low Back PainMechanical5 more

Low back pain is a major public health problem and is associated with a high rate of absenteeism at work, functional disability and frequent use of health services. Suction cup therapy is a common technique of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which has been around for about 3,300 years in Asia and the Middle East and has as its main feature the decrease in signs and symptoms of chronic pain. The technique was widely used in the 19th century throughout Asia and Europe, and in recent years demand has been increasing, possibly due to the inefficiency of conventional therapies and medicines. Objective: To verify the effectiveness of the suction cup therapy technique associated with conventional physiotherapy in patients with chronic low back pain. Method: We will include individuals between 18 and 60 years old, both genders, with low back pain for more than 3 months, without having received physical therapy treatment for a period of 6 months. Individuals with severe spinal diseases, root conditions of the spine, carriers of vascular diseases and pregnant women will be excluded. They will be randomly divided into two groups, Conventional Physiotherapy (group 1) and Conventional Physiotherapy associated with suction cup therapy (group 2).

The Efficacy of Kinesio Taping in the Treatment of Nonspecific Acute Low Back Pain

Back Pain

The Purpose of the study was to examine the effect of KinesioTaping (KT) on disability, fear avoidance beliefs and pain intensity in patients with acute non-specific LBP. Materials and Methods: Seventy-eight patients were randomized to an experimental group that received traditional physical therapy plus KT and a control group that received traditional physical therapy alone. Interventions were administered twice a week for four weeks. Assessment tools used were; RMDQ for disability, FABQ for fear-avoidance beliefs and NPRS for pain intensity.

The Effect of Yoga and Stabilization Exercises in Individuals With Chronic Low Back Pain

Low Back Pain

Although exercise has been shown to be effective in low back pain in the literature, there is no conclusion about which exercise is superior to the other. Although there are studies showing positive effects of spinal stabilization exercises and yoga approach on pain level, disability level and quality of life in patients with chronic low back pain, studies evaluating the effectiveness in many other aspects are insufficient. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of spinal stabilization and yoga exercises on pain, functional status, metabolic capacity, kinesophobia and sleep quality in patients with chronic low back pain.

Changes in Blood Flow in the Application of Magnetic Tape in Patients With Low Back Pain. RCT

Low Back Pain

A tape is applied over the lumbar 4th and lumbar 5th levels crosswise in people with low back pain. The possible variation of the arterial flow of the femoral artery is measured with ultrasound. A kinesiology tape was used as placebo tape and Magnetic Tape was used as experimental randomly.

Comparison of Kinesio Taping and Local Injection in Chronic Low Back Pain

Chronic Low Back Pain

Low back pain can be seen in every period of life. More than 80 percent of the society complain of low back pain at any time of life. Although the frequency of applying to a health institution due to low back pain varies from one society to the other, it takes place in the first three places in each community. Low back pain should be differentiated as new (acute) and long-term (chronic). In the treatment of chronic low back pain, rest, education, pharmacological treatment, physical therapy, painful point injections, surgical interventions, kinesio taping can be applied. The most frequently used physical therapy modalities for treatment of chronic low back pain are superficial and deep heat modalities (hot pack, infrared, ultrasound, microwave diathermy radar) and analgesic effective electrotherapy (TENS, interferential flows) modalities. One of the most important treatments is exercise therapy. In cases where conventional treatment of chronic low back pain is insufficient, that is, the patient's pain is still ongoing and functional recovery is insufficient, some alternative methods are also applied. These treatments include ozone, prolotherapy injection applications, dry needling, acupuncture, phytotherapy, balneotherapy, kinesio taping and so on. The aim of this study is to compare the efficacy of painful point injection and kinesio taping treatments in lumbar region in patients with chronic low back pain.

Cupping Therapy in Nonspecific Chronic Low Back Pain

Low Back Pain

Introduction: Low back pain is a very prevalent condition in the population and windsurf therapy has been presented as a non-pharmacological treatment currently used in this population. However, there is a lack of studies that evaluate such effects, besides a standardization of application of the technique in this condition. This protocol describes a placebo-controlled, randomized, double-blind study that aims to assess the effectiveness of windsurf therapy in improving pain and other symptoms of individuals with chronic non-specific back pain. Methods: Ninety individuals with chronic nonspecific and localized chronic low back pain from 18 to 59 years, will be recruited according to the inclusion criteria. Afterwards they will be randomized to one of the 2 groups: intervention group (GI) where it will be submitted applied to the windspiration with 2 suctions; and placebo group (GP) with simulated application. Both applications will occur in parallel to the vertebrae from L1 to L5 bilaterally. The application will be performed once a week for eight weeks. The volunteers will be evaluated before treatment (T0), immediately after the first intervention (T1), 4 weeks after treatment (T4) and 8 weeks after treatment (T8). The primary endpoint will be pain, and the secondary ones will be kinesiophobia, physical function, lumbar range of motion, sleep quality, patient expectation, quality of life, and psychological factors. Discussion: This is the first protocol that proposes to evaluate the effect of windsotherapy on lumbar ROM, sleep quality, kinesiophobia and psychological problems. Few studies have been done on windsurfing individuals with low back pain, requiring further studies with good methodological quality. Because there is no consensus on the use of windsurf therapy in individuals with nonspecific chronic low back pain, our protocol will be the basis for the use of the technique by health professionals and for new studies to be performed.
