30 Gy single fraction of SBRT for lung metastases will result in comparable oncologic outcomes to 18Gy in three fractions (or dosing to a BED </-100Gy at the discretion of the radiation oncologist) with respect to disease control and toxicity.

This study evaluates the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a brief cognitive-behavioural program designed to improve cognitive functioning in people with brain metastases.

The folate receptor is over-expressed on many types of cancer cells and new folate receptor targeted therapies are being developed to target cancer cells that over-express the folate receptor. As with other targeted therapies, it is important to develop diagnostic tests that will provide accurate information on folate receptor status and aid in selecting patients that may benefit from folate-targeted therapy.

The objective of this phase 2 study is to evaluate the feasibility of an early palliative care intervention for metastatic cancer patients. Feasibility will be assessed in terms of percentage of patients that accept the proposal of the early palliative care intervention and that effectively start to be followed in the palliative care out-patient clinic. The study will be performed in a consecutive series of newly diagnosed patients affected by lung cancer (NSCLC or SCLC, stage IIIb, IV), mesothelioma (stage II, IV), pancreas (stage IV), stomach (stage IIIb-IV).

RATIONALE: Lithium carbonate may be an effective treatment for intestinal graft-versus-host disease caused by a donor stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying lithium carbonate in treating patients with acute intestinal graft-versus-host-disease after donor stem cell transplant.

RATIONALE: Ondansetron may help lessen or prevent nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well ondansetron works in preventing nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing stem cell transplant.

The primary objective of study CT 4003 is to assess the behavior of EndoTAG®-1 in the body (making a so-called pharmacokinetic profile). Therefore, the course of the drug in the body is examined, i.e. the amount and speed of the drug uptake as well as the distribution and the elimination of the drug is being investigated. Further objectives of the study are to assess the effect of EndoTAG®-1 on liver metastases concerning size and blood supply measured by imaging techniques (contrast-enhanced ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging as well as duplex sonography) and to assess the effect on blood markers which are indicators for the destruction and neoplasm of blood vessels (so-called markers of angiogenesis).
