A Bidirectional Study in Exploring the Dynamic Changes of Plasma and Urine Metabolites of Nasopharyngeal...

Nasopharyngeal CarcinomaEBV Infection

The transformation process of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is complex, so it is particularly important to explore the relationship between various disease states on its clinical pathway. Therefore, we carried out this study to explore the changes of plasma and urine metabolites at different stages during the occurrence and development of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Detection and Biopsy Guidance of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Based on Artificial Intelligence and Endoscopic...

Nasopharyngeal CarcinomaImage-Guided Biopsy

Due to the occult anatomic location of the nasopharynx and frequent presence of adenoid hyperplasia, the positive rate for nasopharyngeal carcinoma identification during biopsy is low, thus leading to delayed or missed diagnosis for nasopharyngeal carcinoma upon initial attempt. Here, we aimed to develop an artificial intelligence tool to detect nasopharyngeal malignancies and guide biopsy under endoscopic examination based on deep learning.

Verification of Harmonization of Plasma Epstein-Barr Virus DNA Measurements

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Plasma Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA will be measured in native plasma samples of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients, respectively, by three medical centers and a qualified laboratory in Southern China, the highest endemic area of NPC. Passing-Bablok regression and difference plots will be used to compare results from each center to the all-method median and mean values. Agreement among methods will be evaluated against bias derived from a biological variation.

Immune Score Based Radiomics in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

In nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), tumor, node and metastasis (TNM) staging system is the main tool for determining treatment strategy and assessment of prognosis. However, the prognoses of patients with the same TNM stage after similar treatment vary widely. The aim of this study is to establish an immune score based radiomic staging system for NPC.

Olfactory Change After Chemo-radiotherapy for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

This is an observational cohort study aimed to explore the changes of olfactory function at multiple time points from baseline to 1 year after radiotherapy among the local advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients.

Screening Effect of Dual-energy CT Combined With Nasopharyngeal Endoscopy for Screening Nasopharyngeal...

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

All participants will be tested for EBV-related biomarkers, including EBNA1-IgA, VCA-IgA, and BNLF2b total antibody (P85-Ab), and participants with high serologic risk will be selected based on serologic test results, and dual-energy CT will be performed first for high-risk screening subjects, and dual-energy CT will be performed first for the high-risk group to record dual-energy CT examinations of those suspected of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and then endoscopy was performed on the high-risk group to record those suspected of nasopharyngeal carcinoma under endoscopy, and finally biopsies were taken for positive lesion sites indicated by dual-energy CT and suspicious lesion sites found by endoscopy to clarify the diagnosis.

Trail Evaluating Carbon Ion Radiotherapy for Locally Recurrent Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

The purpose of this study is to determine the maximal tolerated dose (MTD) of re-irradiation using carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT) in the treatment of locally recurrent nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) and to evaluate the efficacy of such treatment at the MTD. Participants will be treated with CIRT with escalating dose regimens to evaluate the maximal tolerated dose (MTD) in terms of acute and subactue toxicity observed during and within 4 months after the completion of CIRT. Once the MTD for locally recurrent NPC is determined, the MTD will be used as the recommended dose to patients fulfilling the inclusion criteria in the Phase II part of the trial.
