Trial Evaluating Carbon Ion Radiotherapy With Concurrent Chemotherapy for Locally Recurrent Nasopharyngeal...

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

The purpose of this study is to determine the maximal tolerated dose (MTD) of re-irradiation using carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT) along with concurrent chemotherapy in the treatment of locally recurrent nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) and to evaluate the efficacy of such treatment at the MTD. Participants will be treated with CIRT with escalating dose regimens along with concurrent chemotherapy (40 mg/m^2, weekly) to evaluate the maximal tolerated dose (MTD) in terms of acute and subacute toxicity observed during and within 4 months after the completion of concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Once the MTD for locally recurrent NPC is determined, the MTD will be used as the recommended dose to patients fulfilling the inclusion criteria in the Phase II part of the trial.

Induction and Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy With Cetuximab for Patients With Locally Advanced Nasopharyngeal...

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Standard of care for treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is chemoradiation with concurrent cisplatin. Addition of a second agent, cetuximab, which targets nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells with high EGFR protein expression, may enhance the effectiveness of radiation and result in better tumour control. This study investigates the addition of 2 cycles of cisplatin/5FU chemotherapy with cetuximab, followed by cisplatin and cetuximab concurrent with radiation, for treatment of locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Ifosfamide and Doxorubicin in Patients With Refractory Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Refractory Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

This research is to test the effectiveness and toxicity of both Ifosfamide and Doxorubicin. It also aims to explore the relationship between EBV DNA and clinical response in patients with advanced naso-pharyngeal cancer which has been previously treated with chemotherapy.

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Screening in Zhongshan City

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

The primary objective is to determine the early diagnosis rate and mortality rate of the Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (NPC) in the study population. The secondary objective is to determine the incidence of NPC in the study population.

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Post IMRT

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a type of head and neck cancer. The last three decades of research in head and neck radiation oncology have largely focused on improvements in survival, which have mostly come at the cost of long term toxicity for surviving patients. This is an observational study that is being done to learn about the long-term symptoms and side effects that survivors of nasopharyngeal cancer may have following radiation treatment. This study will include assessment of patient report outcomes, physician-graded adverse events, neurocognitive assessment and endocrine and hearing testing

BGJ398 in Treating Patients With FGFR Positive Recurrent Head and Neck Cancer

FGFR Gene AmplificationFGFR1 Gene Amplification8 more

This phase IIa trial studies how well the experimental drug, BGJ398 (infigratinib), works in treating patients with fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) 1-3 translocated, mutated, or amplified head and neck cancer that has returned after a period of improvement. BGJ398 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

Talactoferrin in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer or Squamous...

Metastatic Squamous Neck Cancer With Occult Primary Squamous Cell CarcinomaRecurrent Metastatic Squamous Neck Cancer With Occult Primary44 more

This phase I trial studies how well talactoferrin works in treating patients with relapsed or refractory non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) or squamous cell head and neck cancer. Biological therapies, such as talactoferrin, may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop tumor cells from growing

Erlotinib Hydrochloride and Radiation Therapy in Stage III-IV Squamous Cell Cancer of the Head and...

Stage III Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the HypopharynxStage III Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Larynx10 more

RATIONALE: Erlotinib hydrochloride may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Erlotinib hydrochloride may also make tumor cells more sensitive to radiation therapy. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x- rays and other types of radiation to kill tumor cells. Giving erlotinib hydrochloride together with radiation therapy may be an effective treatment for patients with head and neck cancer.PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving erlotinib hydrochloride together with radiation therapy works in treating patients with stage III-IV squamous cell cancer of the head and neck.
