Safety and Efficacy Study of a New Chemotherapy Agent to Treat Small Cell Lung Cancer
Small Cell Lung CarcinomaThe purpose of this study is to determine whether the study drug is effective and safe in the first line treatment of patients with small cell lung cancer

A Phase II Study of ACZONE™ (Dapsone) Gel, 5% As a Treatment For Tarceva® (Erlotinib)Related Rash...
RashNon-small-Cell Lung CancerThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and preliminary efficacy of ACZONE in subjects treated with the HER1/EGFR inhibitor Tarceva (erlotinib) who develop a rash on the face

Phase I/II Trial of PTK787 and Pemetrexed With or Without Cisplatin for Lung Cancer
Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer and Pleural MesotheliomaThis is an open-label, two-arm, multicenter Phase IA/II dose-escalation study of PTK787 in combination with Pemetrexed alone (Cohort 1) or Pemetrexed and Cisplatin (Cohort 2). This study is designed to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and dose limiting toxicity (DLT) of PTK787 when administered in combination with Pemetrexed or Pemetrexed and Cisplatin, and to characterize the safety, tolerability, biologic activity, and PK profile of PTK787 in adult patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancers and mesotheliomas.

A Phase II Study of Velcade® in Patients Stage IIIB OR IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
STAGE IIIB OR IV NON-SMALL CELL LUNG CANCERThe purpose of this study is to determine whether Bortezomib is effective in the treatment of patients with non-small-cell lung cancer who have not received any prior chemotherapy regimen for advanced disease.

Epoetin Alfa in Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (EPO-CAN-20)
Non-Small-Cell Lung CarcinomaLung Cancer1 moreThe general objective of this study is to improve the Quality of Life (QoL) of selected patients with advanced carcinoma of the lung. The specific objective is to evaluate the effect of treatment with epoetin alfa (recombinant human erythropoietin) on anemia related QoL and anemia in non-small cell lung cancer patients with advanced stage disease and underlying anemia of malignancy.

Docetaxel, Carboplatin, and Bevacizumab in Treating Patients With Stage I, Stage II, or Stage III...
Lung CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving docetaxel and carboplatin together with bevacizumab before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving docetaxel and carboplatin together with bevacizumab works in treating patients with stage I, stage II, or stage III non-small cell lung cancer that can be removed by surgery.

Bevacizumab, Paclitaxel, Carboplatin, and Radiation Therapy to the Chest in Treating Patients With...
Adenocarcinoma of the LungBronchoalveolar Cell Lung Cancer4 moreThis phase I trial studies how well giving bevacizumab together with paclitaxel, carboplatin, and radiation therapy to the chest works in treating patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Giving bevacizumab together with paclitaxel, carboplatin, and radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells.

Pemetrexed and LBH589 in Patients With Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Non-Small Cell Lung CancerLBH589 is a drug that may slow down the growth of cancer cells or kill cancer cells by blocking certain enzymes. LBH589 has shown effects against cancer in laboratory studies and in studies using animals; however, it is not known if this medicine will show the same activity in humans. As of May 2006, approximately 100 patients have received treatment with either an intravenous or capsule form of LBH589. Only the capsule form of LBH589 will be used in this study. In addition, information from other research studies and laboratory studies suggests that this study drug may help to treat lung cancer. The main goal during the Phase I portion of this research study is to find out the highest and safest dose of LBH589 that can be given in combination with pemetrexed in subjects with lung cancer without causing severe side effects. The main goal of the Phase II portion of this study is to find how the patient's lung cancer responds to the LBH589 in combination with pemetrexed. This study will also investigate how the patient's body processes the combination of LBH589 and pemetrexed. To determine this, the investigators will measure the amount of study drug in the patient's blood. This will be done with a series of blood tests, called pharmacokinetic (PK) tests. Other purposes of this study will be to determine the side effects of LBH589 in combination with pemetrexed and whether or not this combination is effective in treating your type of cancer.

The Synergistic Metastases Annihilation With Radiotherapy and Docetaxel (Taxotere) [SMART] Trial...
Non-small Cell Lung CancerPrimary goal of the study is to assess the overall survival of the addition of hypofractionated image guided radiotherapy concurrently with Docetaxel and cisplatin. Survival will be assessed at 1 year from the date of study enrollment to date of death.

Standard Chemotherapy With Blueberry Powder in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Non-small Cell Lung CancerThis phase II trial will evaluate phyto-therapy's, in the form of blueberry powder, synergistic effect on second-line therapy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The proposition is that the addition of blueberry polyphenolics to routine docetaxel therapy will have a significant, positive effect in the response rate and overall survival.
