Photodynamic Therapy Using HPPH in Treating Patients With Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer That...
Lung CancerRATIONALE: Photodynamic therapy uses a drug, such as HPPH, that becomes active when it is exposed to a certain kind of light. When the drug is active, tumor cells are killed. This may be an effective treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer that blocks the air passages. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well photodynamic therapy using HPPH works in treating patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that blocks the air passages.

Bronchial Artery Infusion of Gemcitabine in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Progressive Non-Small...
Lung CancerRATIONALE: Bronchial artery infusion uses a catheter to deliver antitumor substances directly to the lungs. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Giving gemcitabine in different ways may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of gemcitabine given by bronchial artery infusion and to see how well it works in treating patients with recurrent or progressive non-small cell lung cancer.

Pemetrexed Disodium or Erlotinib Hydrochloride as Second-Line Therapy in Treating Patients With...
Recurrent Non-Small Cell Lung CarcinomaStage IIIA Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer2 moreThis randomized phase III trial studies pemetrexed disodium to see how well it works compared with erlotinib hydrochloride as second-line therapy in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Pemetrexed disodium and erlotinib hydrochloride may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether pemetrexed disodium is more effective than erlotinib hydrochloride in treating advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

A Study of ASA404 or Placebo in Combination With Docetaxel in Second-line Treatment for (Stage IIIb/IV)...
Non-Small Cell Lung CancerThe purpose of this study is to determine if adding ASA404 to docetaxel chemotherapy makes the cancer treatment more effective in patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer

Study of Polyphenon E in Addition to Erlotinib in Advanced Non Small Cell Lung Cancer
Non-Small Cell Lung CancerThe purpose of this study is to study if the addition of the green tea extract, Polyphenon E, to Erlotinib is safe and if it has potential to improve outcomes in second line therapy for Advanced Stage IIIb/IV Non-small cell lung cancer.

Hydroxychloroquine, Carboplatin, Paclitaxel, and Bevacizumab in Recurrent Advanced Non-Small Cell...
Lung CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as hydroxychloroquine, carboplatin, and paclitaxel and work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving hydroxychloroquine together with carboplatin, paclitaxel and bevacizumab may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of hydroxychloroquine when given together with carboplatin, paclitaxel, and bevacizumab and to see how well they work in treating patients with recurrent advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

First Line Study of Tamibarotene in Combination for Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Stage IIIB Non-small Cell Lung Cancer With Pleural EffusionStage IV Non-small Cell Lung CancerThe goal of this study is to determine the progression-free survival and objective response rate in subjects with either stage IIIB with pleural effusion NSCLC or stage IV NSCLC who are treated with up to six cycles of paclitaxel plus carboplatin and either tamibarotene or placebo. Subjects will be randomly assigned to receive tamibarotene, 6 mg/m2, divided as twice daily orally, or an equal number of matching placebo tablets, starting 1 week before chemotherapy and continuing through all 6 cycles and beyond. Subjects will be assessed for response on Day 50, Day 113, then every other month using the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST 1.1).

Customizing First Line Chemotherapy in Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Non-Small Cell Lung CancerThe study aims at piloting the concept of customization of chemotherapy based on molecular markers in patients with stage IIIB (with pleural effusion) and IV with performance status ≤ 2 with pathologically proven non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The study will not test or compare individual regimen but rather it will test the approach of customization concept as a whole. The results of this pilot study will help in designing more definitive trials in our patient population.

Pemetrexed and Gemcitabine Every 14 Days Versus Every 21 Days in Advanced Non Small Cell Lung Cancer...
Non-Small-Cell Lung CancerThis study is designed to evaluate Pemetrexed and Gemcitabine Day 1 followed by Gemcitabine Day 8 every 21 days (Arm A) and Pemetrexed and Gemcitabine Day 1 every 14 days (Arm B) in patients with NSCLC. Each agent and sequence has well demonstrated antitumor activity respectively in patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC. Therefore, it is reasonable to investigate the most optimal schedule for this combination, and which combination is associated with the most anti-tumor activity in the phase II arena.

Efficacy Study of Oral Seliciclib to Treat Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Non-small Cell Lung CancerA phase 2 study to evaluate efficacy of oral seliciclib in treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
