A Study Evaluating the Safety, Tolerability and Efficacy of Two Injections of SM04690 for the Treatment...

Knee Osteoarthritis

The primary purpose of this phase 2, placebo-controlled, double-blind, parallel group study is to provide an initial evaluation of two intra-articular (IA) injections of SM04690 (each at the dose of 0.07mg per 2mL injection) approximately six months apart into the target knee of moderately to severely symptomatic osteoarthritis (OA) subjects. Subjects who complete this 52-week long study will be eligible to enter the extension phase for an additional 52 weeks of treatment.

Knee OsteoarthritisTotal Knee Arthroplasty1 more

This study compares analgesic effect between two techniques of adductor canal nerve block after total knee arthroplasty. The first group of the patients will receive intraoperative adductor canal nerve block; and the other group post operative ultrasound guided adductor canal nerve block. Investigators will measure postoperative opioid consumption, pain management and rehabilitation goals.

OsteoarthritisKnee

Clinical trial with medical device, multicenter, single-blind (blind third party evaluation), randomized, comparative and in two paralell groups, to demonstrate the treatment according to usual clinical practice, of the combination of 50 mg Sodium Hyaluronate and 50 mg Chondroitin Sulfate (ENKO 1) in a single administration, has non-inferiority efficacy vs the comparator (Durolane; 60 mg HA crosslinked) in patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis after three months of follow-up.

End-range Mobilization on Knee Osteoarthritis

Osteo Arthritis Knee

Different manual therapy techniques and conservative therapy have been used separately for alleviation of pain and improvement of physical function in patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA). However, no study has reported the effect of combination of these treatment modalities in the management of KOA. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of end-range mobilization added to conservative therapy versus conservative therapy alone on decrease of pain and improvement of functional status in KOA.

Effects of Closed and Open Kinetic Chain Exercises

Osteo Arthritis Knee

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a heterogeneous pathology characterized by focal cartilage degeneration and the formation of new bone around the subchondral bone and joint, which is the disruption of balance between the processes of destruction and repair in subchondral area. Knee OA is a considerable cause of disability and is present in 2-3% of all disability causes. Exercises are more noticeable than other methods because they are an easy method, low cost and long-lasting. To the best of our knowledge, the studies based on this topic are scarce. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the effects of open and closed kinetic chain exercises on pain, functional level, quality of life and muscle strength in patients with knee osteoarthritis.
