Application of 3D Visualization and 3D Printing in the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery
Liver DiseasesPancreatic Diseases1 moreBackground:The aim of the study is to value the application of three-dimensional visualization and three-dimensional printing in the hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery.Method:From January 2016 to December 2018,the clinical data of 200 patients with the hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases will be collected. All the patients received abdominal CT scanning and 3D reconstruction. Then we used the 3D reconstruction model and the 3D printed model based on the 3D reconstruction model in the operation planning and the operation. The clinical data include operative time, intraoperative blood loss, and postoperative complications after surgery.
Shear Wave Elastography in Diagnosis of Inflammatory and Malignant Pancreatic Diseases
Shear Wave ElastographyPancreatic DiseasesOnly a few studies that have assessed the normal range value for pancreatic stiffness, inflammatory and malignant pancreatic lesions, shear wave velocities of healthy parenchyma, acute and chronic pancreatitis, malignant lesions of the pancreas will be evaluated and compared with other conventional imaging modalities, and evaluate its role in assessment of severity and prediction of clinical course/ outcome in patients with inflammatory pancreatic diseases.
Diagnostic Efficacy of FFOCT Imaging for Tissue Sample Obtained by EUSFNB
Pancreatic DiseasesIn most Asian medical centers, rapid on-site cytology evaluation is not available, the number of needle passes of EUS-FNA is decided by endoscopists. Full-field optical coherence tomography (FF-OCT) is a new optical imaging technique that could generate sectioning tomogram from fresh tissue and provide close-to-pathology depiction of the morphological structure and pathological changes in minutes without conventional tissue preparation, slicing, and staining, and dynamic cell imaging (DCI) added the viability information of cells/tissue, which could be more important in sample rapid evaluation.
EUS for Gastrointestinal Disorders: a Registry
GI Tract DisordersPancreatic Disorders1 moreThe aim of the EUS registry is to record information about Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) on the management of gastrointestinal disease. The registry will evaluate efficacy, safety and technical success of the Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS). Design is retrospective and prospective registry study.
Indications and Outcomes of Endoscopic Ultrasound in Tanta
Gastric DiseaseIntestinal Disease2 moreThe aim is to evaluate the initial experience for the indications and outcomes of EUS in Tanta university hospital.
Interventional Endoscopy Database for Pancreatico-biliary, Gastrointestinal and Esophageal Disorders...
Ampullary CancerDuodenal Cancer21 moreOur institution performs therapeutic ERCP (Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography ), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Interventional Endoscopy in around 1000 patients a year. Procedures such as biliary and/or pancreatic sphincterotomy, stents placement (metallic or plastic) and removal for revision, cysts and pseudocysts drainage are conducted in patients suffering from pancreatico-biliary disorders, gastrointestinal disorders and esophageal disorders. The investigators would like to assess prospectively the efficacy and safety of these routine procedures to permit identification of technical details about the procedures or other factors which might be associated with outcome or results. Assessment of these details would help us with problem identification and recommendations to improve health outcomes and quality of life in these patients.
Liver, Pancreas and Thyroid Function in Burn Patients
BurnsLiver Fibroses2 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which severe burn injuries affect the morphology and function of liver, pancreas and thyroid. The evaluation of the liver will be performed non-invasively with liver fibrosis scores based on standard blood parameters and the measurement of liver stiffness (correlated with liver fibrosis) and controlled attenuation parameter (CAP, correlated with hepatic steatosis) via transient elastography (FibroScan©, Echosens SA, Paris, France). The thyroid and the pancreas will be assessed via ultrasound (GE Medical Systems, Waukesha, USA) and standard blood parameters, respectively.
Assessment of Cholangio-pancreatoscopy for the Diagnosis and the Treatment of Biliary and Pancreatic...
Lesions of Biliary or Wirsung DuctsBiliary Tract Diseases2 moreThe biliary and pancreatic tumors are rare but the prognosis is pejorative. It was difficult to have histology of these tumors as the samples taken during ERCP were performed under " blind " radiology control. So the diagnostic accuracy was insufficient. The arrival of A new optic fiber endoscope used by only one operator had improved the diagnostic of bilio-pancreatic diseases. However this technology with optic fiber quickly had proved outdated for several reasons: poor manoeuvrability, perfectible optical vision, optical fibers fragility and cost. A new generation of endoscopes with digital vision appeared and would allow an increase in diagnostic accuracy related to better vision and manoeuvrability. The purpose of the study is to assess the interest of the cholangio pancreatoscopy performed with digital vision.
Project Survival-Prospective Biomarker Discovery
Pancreatic NeoplasmsPancreatic Cancer3 moreThis sample-collection study is open to participants in several categories: healthy volunteers (with or without a family history of pancreatic cancer) and individuals diagnosed with pancreatitis or any stage of pancreatic cancer. All participants will submit urine, saliva and blood samples; pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer patients will also submit tissue samples if biopsy/ies or surgery is part of the care being provided by their doctor. In partnership with Berg Health, LLC, biomarkers will be investigated for potential use in early detection of pancreatic cancer, to determine prognosis of patients, and to find the most appropriate treatments for patients.
Enhanced Recovery After Surgery for Hepatobiliary-Pancreatic Surgery
Liver DiseasesPancreas DiseaseERAS protocols have been utilized extensively in abdominal and non abdominal surgery over the past 20 years. These protocols incorporate evidence based, multi-disciplinary peri-operative care components. Compliance with these protocols is associated with reduced length of stay, reduced morbidity and reduced hospital costs. ERAS protocols within HPB units are les well established with less evidence supporting their use. Liver resection protocols are increasing in use, but ERAS post Whipples resection is less established. In the HPB unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, the liver HPB protocol is in use but a recent audit identified that that the compliance rate is low with compliance rates as low as 30 per cent in some care domains.
