Injection With OnabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) for the Treatment of Chronic Pelvic Pain
Myofascial Pain SyndromesMyofascial Trigger Point Pain2 moreThis research study because is looking at woman with symptoms of chronic pelvic pain caused by short, tight, and tender pelvic floor muscles (Myofascial Pelvic Pain syndrome). The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not injections with onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) improve symptoms of pain and tenderness. The drug being studied, Botox is FDA approved for other uses. However, Botox is not FDA approved for the use in myofascial pelvic pain (MPP). Therefore, Botox is considered experimental or research in this study.

Pelvic Floor DisordersPelvic PainTo determine the efficacy of intravaginal diazepam for the treatment of pelvic pain associated with pelvic floor hypertonic disorder.
Intra-vaginal Electrical Stimulation Device Compared to Sham Device for Chronic Pelvic Pain
Pelvic PainThe goal of the study is to evaluate the use of a personal intravaginal, non- implanted electrical stimulation device in the treatment of chronic pelvic pain. The investigators propose a randomized controlled trial comparing the investigated device to a sham device. The primary outcome is pain control using the visual analog scale and brief pain inventory (18). Hypothesis: Subjects will report increased pain relief with the electrical stimulation device compared to those using the sham device alone.
Hatha Yoga Exercises in Pelvic and Lumbar Back Pain in Pregnant Woman
LUMBAR BACK PAINPELVIC PAIN1 moreThe aim of this study is to identify evaluate the effectiveness of stretching exercises of Hatha Yoga method in pregnant women with back pain and posterior pelvic City Paulínia. -There will be a randomized clinical trial with 60 pregnant women with these symptoms. They will be randomly divided into 2 groups. The group A will perform the exercises of Hatha Yoga for ten weeks, once a week group B postural follow the guidelines recommended for the treatment of these pains, for ten weeks. Will be used as a technique for evaluating the Visual Analogue Scale to measure pain intensity and confirmation tests of the lumbar and posterior pelvic pain in order to differentiate them. A descriptive statistical analysis of univariate and bivariate distributions will be made through frequency and graphical representation. The association between the variables will be tested by statistical tests: [chi-square (X ²)], Fisher's exact test, Student's t test or Mann-Whitney, [Student's t test to compare means], ANOVA for the analysis of effects between the groups. [The significance level is predetermined to 5%]. The data will be analyzed in EPI-INFO 2000. SAS 9.0 and from the database created .
Combined Sono-electro-magnetic Therapy for Treatment of Refractory Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome...
Chronic Pelvic Pain SyndromeTreatment of chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS) is challenging for patients and physicians once conventional therapies fail. We hypothesize that combined sono-electro-magnetic therapy can improve refractory CPPS in men. In addition, we postulate that combined sono-electro-magnetic therapy as well as placebo therapy has a significant effect on brain activity detectable by functional MRI.
Surgical Treatment of Pelvic Joint Instability in Patients With Severe Pelvic Girdle Pain After...
Pelvic Joint InstabilityPelvic PainPelvic girdle pain (PGP) related to pregnancy is a common reason to sick leave during pregnancy. Low back pain and PGP affects about 50% of women during pregnancy. Most of the women recover, however about 10% of the women still have complaints after birth. Most patients have positive effect from conservative treatment, but unfortunately some do still have much pain despite intensive conservative rehabilitation. Surgery has been tried on these women with various results. Surgical treatment is controversial and there is a lack of documentation. The investigators will operate 20 patients with arthrodesis to the sacroiliac joint and symphysis. Radiostereometric analysis (RSA) will be used to evaluate the joint movement in different part of the process. Hypothesis: Severe pelvic girdle pain is caused by pelvic joint instability in some cases and surgically fixation of the affected joints can help these women to get back to a normal life.

EndometriosisThis is a 3-arm, multicenter, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy of DR-2001 in endometriosis-related symptoms, primarily nonmenstrual pelvic pain, over a 12-week treatment period.
The Safety and Effectiveness of Surgery With or Without Raloxifene for the Treatment of Pelvic Pain...
EndometriosisPelvic PainMany women with lower abdominal pain have endometriosis. Endometriosis is a condition in which the lining of the uterus (endometrium) is found outside of the uterus. The diagnosis of endometriosis is usually made at surgery. The treatment of endometriosis includes medical and surgical approaches alone or in combination. The hormone estrogen stimulates the growth of the endometrium and may also stimulate the growth of endometriosis. Medical therapies that act to decrease the level of estrogen can reduce the amount of endometriosis and pain. When therapies are discontinued, symptoms often return. In addition, medical treatment for endometriosis is expensive and is often associated with weak bones (osteoporosis) and hot flashes as a result of low levels of estrogen. Surgical treatment is removal or destruction of the endometriosis tissue. Studies show the pain from endometriosis is relieved longer with tissue removal than with destruction. This study was developed to see if surgery followed by daily doses of Raloxifene (Evista) is effective in reducing pain, for a longer time than surgery in combination with a placebo (inactive "sugar pill") treatment. Raloxifene acts like estrogens in some tissues and not like estrogens in others. Postmenopausal women receiving Raloxifene for the prevention of osteoporosis had an increase in bone density and an improvement of their blood lipids (fat content in the blood). However, unlike estrogen, Raloxifene does not promote the growth of breast tissue or the uterus. If Raloxifene blocks estrogen action in the lining of the uterus (endometrium) of reproductive age women, as it does in post-menopausal women, it may also limit the growth of endometriosis and prevent the return of pain.
