It is not yet known whether duloxetine is more effective than a placebo in treating peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying duloxetine to see how well it works compared with a placebo in treating peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy in patients with cancer.

Xanamem™ in Healthy Elderly Subjects
SafetyPeripheral Neuropathy7 moreXanamem™ is being developed as a potential drug for Alzheimer's disease. This study drug has been designed to change the cortisol levels in the brain. Cortisol is a naturally occurring hormone in the body. It is believed that reducing the level of cortisol will be a benefit in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The XanaHES study is testing the safety and tolerability of Xanamem. It is planned to enrol approximately 84 participants, male and female aged from 50 to 75 who are in good health, in the study at 1 centre in Australia. The XanaHES Phase I study is a single-blind study. Subjects will be randomised to receive either 20mg once daily Xanamem or Placebo in cohort 1. Once all subjects have completed the study treatment of 12 weeks, a dose escalation committee will decide if a new cohort, cohort 2, with 30mg once daily vs placebo is started.

Purpose: The primarily purpose is to investigate the feasibility of implementing safe, progressive resistance training, combined with exercises for ankle mobility and aerobic training, for people with diabetes and foot ulcers, without compromising the ulcer. The secondarily purpose is to investigate whether this form of training is effective on improving muscle strength, as to if limitations in everyday life diminishes. The hypothesis is, that it is possible to implement a structured exercise program without compromising the diabetic ulcer.

Breast CancerChemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy1 moreThis study evaluates the acute effect of aerobic exercise and yoga on pain, plasma levels of endocannabinoids, and mood (i.e., mood disturbance and anxiety). Participants will complete three separate sessions on different days. The first session is a familiarization session in which participants complete questionnaires and are familiarized with the experimental protocols. During the second and third sessions, outcomes are measured before and after the participants complete either 44 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise (i.e., walking on a treadmill) or 44 minutes of yoga.

Moreover, it will lead to another complication as disabilities and difficulties in activities of daily living (ADL). Most of the intervention for diabetes and diabetic neuropathic patients are mostly focusing on the prevention of foot ulcer. Diabetic foot care can prevent only for diabetes-related foot ulcer and foot amputation. It cannot be reduced DPN and cannot be improved the activities of daily living of the patient with DPN. Moreover, there is the restriction of weight-bearing exercise on the recommendation of exercises for the patients with DPN. Therefore, exercise program which may be suitable for all the patients with DPN was introduced in this study to improve ADL and decrease the neuropathic symptoms in the diabetic patients. Compliance with exercise or intervention is not only critical to get adherence but also for the long-term use of its. Easy to do exercise in the short duration which can able to do on their own in their home promote their compliance and adherence to the exercises. In this study, the effectiveness of exercises in the patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy was examined to fulfill the requirement of exercises which is simple and can be done in a short time. The objective of the study is to examine the effectiveness of exercise in the patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.

Half of the participants will receive the oil blend with active ingredients and the other half will receive a placebo (an oil blend with no active ingredients). One-fourth of the people will also take pictures of their life with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy.
