Chronic foot ulcers occurring among diabetic patients are difficult to heal. The frequent elderly age with co-morbidities, vascular insufficiencies, peripheral neuropathies and super imposed infections, all contribute towards the chronicity and failure of treatment. Preserving the ulcerated limb is the patients' wish. On the other hand, an infected ulcer that never heals just unnecessarily prolongs suffering. Nevertheless, patients earnestly like to try all methods of healing before accepting amputation. Objective:To determine whether a course of herbal preparation used as an adjuvant therapy for diabetic patients suffering from chronic foot ulcers may promote healing so that major leg amputation can be avoided.

This study is a prospective, multi-center, randomized controlled trial designed to collect patient outcome data on a commercially available human autologous homologous skin construct with SOC dressing compared to SOC dressings alone in the treatment of Diabetic Foot Wounds.

A Multicentre Randomized Controlled Trial to Investigate the Effect of Natrox Topical Oxygen Wound Therapy on the Healing rates of Diabetic Foot Ulcers.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of Vaporous Hyperoxia Therapy (VHT), previously named Misty (WTS-1000) for the treatment of chronic foot ulcers.

This is a prospective, multi-national, multi-centre, randomized, non-blinded (photo evaluation is blinded), controlled clinical investigation in patients suffering from diabetic wounds reaching to tendon, bone, or joint. Patients will be randomised to received intact fish skin (Kerecis™ Omega3 Wound) plus standard of care or standard of care alone, and wound healing compared over 16 weeks.

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs spends an estimated $1.5 billion a year on healthcare for patients with diabetes. The prevalence and complications of diabetes increase with age. Therefore, with the aging of the US and Veteran populations, there is an expectation of increased healthcare costs associated with treating diabetes and the associated complications of this disorder. One common complication is the diabetic foot ulcer. Diabetic foot ulcers are expensive to treat, can take a long time to heal and result in a decrease in patient quality of life. Patients remain susceptible to developing more foot ulcers over time. The goal of this project is to reduce the time it takes to heal a diabetic foot ulcer, increase the time between episodes of ulceration and improve the quality of life for diabetic foot ulcer patients.

Study in adult Diabetes Mellitus patients with diabetic foot ulcers and elevated HbA1c who will receive standard wound treatment in combination with adjuvant therapy WF10 to compare the change of HbA1c levels at baseline and after treatment.

MY FOOT project aims at filling the gap in mobile applications by providing evidence to both involved stakeholders, that is the remote assistance from the hospital and the patient, who is directly involved in their own care strategy. In particular, the application has to motivate patients and engage them in their self-care. Interaction with the mobile phone application is in the following terms: APP elaborates data input from the patient in terms of own feeling of health status, symptoms revealed along the day, events eventually occurred, photos of the foot, including ulcer zoom (if any), APP reports back about increase / decrease in the Risk Level graph through time, maps the ulcer evolution or healing based on photos elaboration, using adequate graphs reporting time in the main axis, whilst reminds personal goals to enact care on a regular basis on the basis of the current conditions, eventually alerts the patient to contact clinicians for a visual inspection at a hospital.
