Study of ANAVEX2-73 in Patients With Rett Syndrome

Rett Syndrome

Phase 2 safety, tolerability and efficacy study is designed as a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study. 7-week placebo-controlled study of ANAVEX2-73 oral solution for the treatment of patients with RTT 18 years or older. A voluntary option will be offered for all patients who meet the exposure criteria for ANAVEX2-73 to continue a 12-week open label extension.

Cytokine Adsorption in Post-cardiac Arrest Syndrome in Patients Requiring Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary...

Cardiac ArrestExtracorporeal Circulation4 more

Almost all patients with refractory cardiac arrest, who are primarily stabilized under ongoing cardiopulmonary resuscitation by transcutaneous implantation of a venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation system (va-ECMO for eCPR) develop post-cardiac arrest syndrome (PCAS). PCAS is characterised by cytokine storm resulting in vasodilation and membrane leakage, which is poorly controlled and often fatal. Case reports and data from the investigators' single-center registry indicate that cytokine adsorption with the CytoSorb removal column can be safely added to va-ECMO, but its efficacy and safety have not been examined systematically. This pilot study will assign all comers undergoing eCPR to va-ECMO with or without cytokine adsorber in a 1:1 fashion. This will ensure comparability and allow analysing clinical endpoints, but is limited by sample size (according to their experience the investigators expect approximately 20 cases per year). The investigators will however be able to generate important data about safety, secondary endpoints such as Interleukin-6-removal or vasopressor use and low-power data about efficacy concerning the primary endpoint 30-day survival.

Therapeutic Role of Flax Seed for Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome

Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome

The study was conducted to determine the therapeutic role of flax seed for Poly cystic ovary syndrome. A sample of 100 subjects were collected. The subjects were from various age group ranging from 18 to 45 years. Subjects showing the signs, symptoms, biochemical, and clinical parameters of the diseases were included in the study. Three different quantities of flax seed were introduced to the subjects for 90 days. Objectives: To assess the nutritional status of Poly cystic Ovary Syndrome patients To determine the therapeutic role of flax seed for PCOS patients Material and method: The level of follicle stimulating hormone, leutinizing hormone, sex hormone binding globulin, serum prolactin, ultrasound were analyzed. To determine the side effects of the flax seed, the liver-enzymatic, lipid profile, and renal tests were conducted.

TrueTear in Sjogren's Disease Patients

Dry Eye SyndromesSjogren's Syndrome

The purpose of this study is to evaluate acute tear production produced by the intranasal tear neurostimulator in participants with Sjögrens syndrome and aqueous tear deficiency. Our primary goal is to evaluate whether Sjögrens patients respond to this intervention and whether there is a baseline tear production level below which these patients do not respond.

Nitrous Oxide for the Treatment of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Patients will then be randomized via a web-based randomization system Redcap Allocation will be stratified based on the presence of a pre-existing spinal cord stimulator to either the nitrous oxide study group or the oxygen control group. The nitrous oxide group will receive 50% nitrous oxide mixed with 50% oxygen, and the control group will receive 50% oxygen (oxygen plus air mixture). Both groups will undergo inhalation therapy for a duration of 2 hours via an FDA-approved mask breathing circuit. Vital signs (blood pressure, respiratory rate, heart rate) will be monitored every 30 minutes. Pulse oximetry monitoring will be continuous. Patients will be monitored for side effects including nausea, vomiting, desaturation, sedation, respiratory depression, and dizziness. Patients and other involved providers will be blinded to the treatment type.

The Four Methods of Ovarian Stimulation in Patients With Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

Polycystic Ovary SyndromeOvarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome

This study is a randomized controlled clinical trial to compare the pregnancy outcomes of mild and minimal stimulation in infertile women with polycystic ovarian syndrome. The study population consisted of all infertile women with polycystic ovary syndrome based on Rotterdam criteria who have not succeed to achieve fertility despite multiple treatments such as drug therapy, laparoscopic surgery, and the frequent failure of induction therapy using gonadotropins and are now candidate for in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intra cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in Reproductive Biomedicine Research Center, Royan institute, Tehran Iran.

Implantation of a Pudendal PNA Test Lead for Neuromodulation by the ENTRAMI Technique in Case of...

Pudendal Impingement Syndrome

Pudendal nerve release surgery in case of pudendal impingement syndrome is well described in literature.Pudendal nerve modulation in case of chronic perineal pain is also a promising technique and some small studies exist. However, in the latter group, patient inclusion criteria are very heterogenous and so conclusions about efficacy are difficult to draw. In the surgery group, outcome results also vary between the different approaches but in general, there is room for improvement. After pudendal nerve release in chronic perineal pain syndrome, it can take up to 6 months before improvement for the patient is recorded. This is partially due to the complex chronic pain syndrome mechanism. Nothing is known about the possible effect of early neuromodulation at the level of the pudendal nerve after his release. Recently, two cadaveric studies were published which described a minimal invasive trans gluteal approach for pudendal nerve decompression and a pudendal electrode placement. In the present trial, the investigators would like to combine the endoscopic trans gluteal pudendal release with pudendal neuromodulation to improve the outcome for patients suffering from pudendal impingement syndrome. The aim is to improve the results of pain score and quality of life of patients undergoing surgery for pudendal release in case of chronic perineal pain syndrome.
