Scapular Upward Rotation Focused Treatment for Patient With Shoulder Impingement Syndrome and a...

Subacromial Pain SyndromeImpingement Syndrome1 more

Altered scapular movement is a common impairment among patients with subacromial impingement syndrome (SAIS). Nevertheless scapular focused interventions have resulted in conflicting findings among this population. One possible reason for this is the inability to identify patients with SAIS who will respond favorably to a scapular focused intervention. The scapular assistance test (SAT) may be one possible indicator of patients most likely to benefit from a scapular focused intervention, particularly one that emphasizes scapular upward rotation. The purpose of this study is to examine targeted upward rotation intervention in patients demonstrating a positive Scapular Assistance test.

The Importance of Gluteus Maximus Muscle in Patients With Preliminary Diagnosis of Piriformis Syndrome...

Piriformis Muscle SyndromeMyofacial Pain Syndromes1 more

Literature shows different pathologies or combination pathologies can cause gluteal region pain and it can be difficult to diagnose. Piriformis syndrome is one of the cause of gluteal region pain, symptoms of myofascial pain syndrome affected gluteus maximus muscle may masquerade as piriformis muscle syndrome or both syndrome can be seen together. The aim of this study is diagnosis myofascial pain syndrome of gluteus maximus muscle and piriformis syndrome by physical examination, special clinical tests and ultrasound guided diagnostic injection test in patients presenting with gluteal pain and evaluate the coexistence of both syndromes.

Shocking Therapy for Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome

Chronic Prostatitis With Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome

Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome is an extremely common urologic diagnosis and accounts for approximately 2 million outpatient visits to urology practices in the United States alone. Up to 6% of men in Canada recently experienced at least moderate to severe prostatitis-like symptoms with two thirds having symptoms lasting more than one year. There are a myriad of therapies for prostatitis, some of which work on some of the men but none works for all the men. Recently, a number of centres have been using low energy shock waves applied on the skin to target the prostate and the muscles around the prostate. The initial reports showed a significant reduction in the pain experienced by the men with prostatitis. However, this potentially highly promising therapy has not been widely used at least in part due to a lack of properly designed studies to validate this therapy. The investigators plan a randomized control trial using shock wave therapy on men with prostatitis. The goal is to provide some solid evidence that either shock waves are or are not of clinical benefit. The investigators hypothesize men with chronic prostatitis/ chronic pelvic pain syndrome will have a reduction in pain and improved voiding and sexual function following low power transdermal shock wave therapy to the prostate and surrounding pelvic muscles.

Clinically Isolated Demyelinating SyndromesMultiple Sclerosis2 more

Clinically isolated demyelinating syndromes (CIS) can evolve into multiple sclerosis (MS). Cognitive deficiencies could occur at this early stage and concern mainly information processing speed (IPS) and their mechanisms are not fully understood. Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) can help in the understanding of these mechanisms.

Effect of Rowachol on Prevention of Postcholecystectomy Syndrome

Postcholecystectomy Syndrome

Postcholecystectomy syndrome (PCS) includes a heterogeneous group of diseases, usually manifested by the presence of abdominal symptoms following gallbladder removal. The pathogenesis of PCS has not been identified; therefore there is no consensus of medical treatment on PCS. The Action of Rowachol are to inhibit hepatic 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaric acid(HMG)-coenzyme A(CoA) reductase, to inhibits cholesterol nucleation in bile from patients with cholesterol gallstones, and to promote biliary lipid secretion. The purpose of this study is to determine whether Rowachol is useful in the prevention of PCS and symptoms change after laparoscopic cholecystectomy
