Prevalence and Factors of Sarcopenia and in Patients With Primary Sjogren's Syndrome
SarcopeniaSjogren's Syndrome1 moreSarcopenia is a progressive condition characterized by decline in muscle strength and muscle mass. Although the mechanism of sarcopenia has not been fully elucidated, it may be caused by protein-poor diet, vitamin D deficiency, hormonal changes, increase in inflammatory cytokine level and oxidative stress. For this reason, it is thought that determining the prevalence of sarcopenia in rheumatological diseases with chronic inflammation and protecting patients from possible comorbidities with appropriate interventions may be an important factor in maintaining and improving the functional levels and quality of life of patients. The aim of our study was to investigate the prevalence and its associated factors of sarcopenia in individuals with primary Sjögren's Syndrome.

the PrEsentation, Rationale and Impact of reperFUSION for Acute Coronary Syndromes in Cape Town...
Acute Coronary SyndromeST Elevated Myocardial Infarction2 moreThe global burden and threat of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) have become a major health challenge that undermines social and economic development throughout the world. Cardiovascular disease including acute coronary syndromes (ACS) currently accounts for 17.9 million deaths a year. Low and middle-income countries such as those in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) have undergone a rapid epidemiological transition over the last few decades and now have a burden of disease increasingly dominated by NCDs. The global burden of disease report for 2017 revealed a 71.4% increase in cardiovascular disease in SSA, predicting a large increase in mortality. Unfortunately, reliable population-level data regarding the incidence, prevalence and demographics of ACS in SSA are limited. The investigators propose to set up and conduct a multi-centre, prospective, observational registry to describe the demographics, clinical characteristics, presentation, management and outcomes of patients admitted with ACS in Cape Town and the Garden Route Health District, Western Cape Province, South Africa. The registry is designed to shed insight on the current burden and impact of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in the Western Cape.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Right/Left Judgement
Carpal Tunnel SyndromeThe discrimination of the right/left side of the body is related to the integrity of the motor and somatosensory areas at the cortical and subcortical levels. Although some studies have shown that there may be an effect on the right/left representation at the cortical and subcortical levels in cases that cause severe neuropathy and neuropathic pain, this effect has not been proven in milder neuropathies. In this study, the effect on right/left side discrimination will be investigated even in cases with carpal tunnel syndrome. Additionally, the investigators aimed to assess the relationship between right/left discrimination and symptom severity.

Metabolic Syndrome and Degenerative Meniscus Lesions Related Knee Function
Metabolic SyndromeMeniscus Lesion3 moreStudies have suggested that Obese patients with metabolic syndrome(MetS)were correlated with knee joint degeneration and osteoarthritis. However, no studies demonstrate the relationship between obese patients with metabolic syndrome and degenerate meniscus lesions and its knee function. The aim is to detect the correlation between obese patients with metabolic syndrome and degenerate meniscus injuries.

The Relationship of Psychological Factors and Sleep Quality With the Severity of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome...
Carpal Tunnel SyndromeDepressive Symptoms5 moreThe most common entrapment neuropathy symptoms, the diagnosis of CTS, is determined by examination findings and by means of the results of electro-diagnostic test. With an increase in disease severity, trap neuropathy, whose symptoms are more pronounced at night, negatively affects the daily life of the person. Deterioration in sleep quality may cause depression and anxiety. Conflicting results have been found in the studies related to these findings. However, no study was found in which daytime sleepiness was evaluated in terms of CTS. The investigators aim in this study is to evaluate the relationship between CTS severity and depression, anxiety, sleep quality and daytime sleepiness.

Cross-cultural Adaptation, Validity and Reliability of the Turkish Version of the Premenstrual Syndrome...
Premenstrual SyndromeThis study is aimed to carry out the Turkish version validity and reliability of the Premenstrual Syndrome Impact Questionnaire (PMS-IQ).

Metabolic Syndrome and Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Sleep ApneaMetabolic SyndromeBackground:Metabolic syndrome is a disorder characterized by abdominal obesity, hypertension, increased triglycerides ,decreased HDL cholesterol and increased blood glucose. Accumulating evidence strongly indicates that insulin resistance and an increased amount of abdominal fat are the pathogenic factors for the characteristics of metabolic syndrome. Studies indicate that sleep apnea may be a manifestation of the metabolic syndrome. Subjects and methods:This study was conducted in the pulmonology department at kasrelainy hospital. It included 80 patients who came to the sleep lab unit for polysomnography. Each patient was subjected to full history taking including(sex, age, smoking history, presence of diabetes or hypertension),thorough clinical examination with emphasis on waist, neck&hip circumference and blood pressure measurements,Laboratory investigations including :Lipid profile& Diabetic profile(HBA1C).In addition to ESS and stop bang score questionnaire.

AST Combined With 0.05% Cyclosporin Eye Drop Improve Corneal Nerve Density in Patients With SS Dry...
Sjogren's SyndromeDry Eye1 moreThe objective of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of autologous serum tears combined with 0.05% cyclosporin eye drop in treating Sjögren's syndrome dry eye and their effect on corneal nerves. We assessed the impact of 12-week AST combined with 0.05% cyclosporin eye drop treatment on signs, symptoms, and sub-basal nerve density (SND) in patients with dry eyes related to Sjogren's syndrome.

Symptom Clusters and Risk Factors of COVID-19 Patients
COVID-19Patient Discharge1 moreAim and objectives: To clarify the types, composition, distribution characteristics and risk factors of symptom clusters experienced by discharged patients with COVID-19, to lay the foundation for effective symptom management. Background: Even when patients recover from COVID-19 patients, the virus can still cause many long-term effects or complications. Therefore, it is crucial to assess the symptoms and influencing factors of discharged patients with COVID-19. Design: Cross-sectional survey. Methods:The investigators used the Post Discharge Experience Assessment Questionnaire for COVID-19 Patients and the Post Discharge Symptom Experience Risk Factor Questionnaire for COVID-19 Patients were used.Stratified random sampling was used to conduct a cross-sectional survey of 384 patients in recovery from COVID-19.Exploratory factor analysis was used to determine the cluster of symptoms, and a binary logistic regression analysis was used to identify the risk factors associated with this symptom cluster.

Effectiveness and Safety of Danshen Injection for Acute Kidney Injury in Primary Nephrotic Syndrome...
Acute Kidney InjuryNephrotic Syndrome1 moreThe goal of this real-world observational study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the Chinese herbal-derived therapeutic Danshen injection following immunosuppressive therapy and prophylactic anticoagulation with low molecular heparin for acute kidney injury in primary nephrotic syndrome. The main questions to answer are: Whether or not Danshen injection is beneficial for acute kidney injury patients in primary nephrotic syndrome patients. Whether or not Danshen injection will increase the bleeding risk in primary nephrotic syndrome patients receiving low molecular heparin. Participants' information will be retrieved from hospital files stored in medical records and the electronic patient data registry. Participants received Danshen injection will be compared with control group to evaluate the recovery of renal function and side effects.
