The Effects of Different Dentin Hypersensitivity Treatment Methods on Quality of Life

Dentin Hypersensitivity

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of a self etch adhesive resin and two desensitizing agents(Calcium phosphate, 5% glutaraldehyde) in treatment of dentin hypersensitivity on the quality of life of individuals.

Comparison Of The Effect Of Propolis And Gluma Desensitizer On The Management Of Dentin Hypersensitivity...

Dentin Hypersensitivity

Objective The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of Propolis and Gluma desensitizer on the management of Dentin Hypersensitivity Methods Patients with dentin hypersensitivity exhibiting pain scores of at least '2' on the visual analog scale (VAS) were included in the study. Patient's response to an air blast stimulus was noted on Visual Analogue Scale and Schiff's scale in order to record the degree of hypersensitivity of teeth. There were 80 teeth, 40 in each group. The baseline scores were obtained. Propolis and Gluma desensitizer were randomly applied to each hypersensitive tooth. VAS scores and Schiff's sensitivity score for air blast stimulus were then noted at baseline, immediate, after 1 week and then after 1 month of application.

To Investigate the Efficacy of an Occluding Dentifrice in Dentinal Hypersensitivity (DH)

Dentin Sensitivity

This single centre study will be used to investigate the efficacy of an experimental stannous fluoride containing dentifrice in relieving dentinal hypersensitivity (DH) after short term use compared with a standard fluoride dentifrice.

Clinical Trial to Compare the Efficacy of a Fluoride Gel and a Dental Bonding Agent in Treatment...

Dentin Sensitivity

This study compares the efficacy of two dental interventions in the treatment of cervical dentine sensitivity. The participants will be selected from adult dental patients registered at a general dental practice in West Sussex, UK. The participants will be split into 2 groups. One group will receive the intervention of topical fluoride varnish application while the other group will receive a topical application of self-etching dentine bonding agent.

Effect of a Self-adhering Material in Dental Hypersensitivity

Dentin SensitivityXerostomia

Aim: To compare the desensitizing capacity of Vertise Flow™ (VF), a new self adhering material, in the treatment of dentine hypersensitivity (DH) in patients who are xerostomic due to radiotherapy for head and neck cancer. Methods: A total of 17 patients were selected for the study. The study was conducted as a split-mouth randomized clinical trial comparing: 1) VF 2) Universal Dentin Sealant (UDS), 3) Clearfil Protect Bond (CPB) and 4) Flor-Opal® Varnish (FOV). Basal and stimulated salivary flow was recorded for each patient according to the method described by Sreebny. The pain experience was generated by a cold stimulus directly to a sensitive tooth surface and assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). The response was recorded before the application of the materials (PRE-1), immediately after (POST-1), at 1-week (POST-2), 4-weeks (POST-3) and 12-week controls (POST-4).

Instant and Lasting Relief Effects of Strontium Chloride/Potassium Nitrate Dentifrice on Dentin...

Dentine Hypersensitivity

The objective of the present study was to compare the effects of a commercially available dentifrice containing 2% strontium chloride and 5% potassium nitrate in a silica base, versus a control dentifrice, containing exactly the same ingredients apart from strontium chloride and potassium nitrate, on the instant and lasting relief of DH.

Cyanoacrylate and Laser and Dentin Sensitivity

Dentin HypersensitivityDentin Sensitivity

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of two treatments for dental hypersensitivity: cyanoacrylate (Super Bonder®) compared with use of low intensity laser treatment (LILT). As the cyanoacrylate is a lower cost treatment, the hypothesis in investigation is if this product is equally effective as the laser treatment.
