Effectiveness of Basketball Pre-injury Attack Program to Reduce the Susceptibility of Injury in...

Injury;SportsBiomechanical Lesions2 more

Basketball is an impact, coordination-opposition sport with continuous contact among players and it is considered a sport of medium-high injury incidence. Players are force to have a physical condition appropriate to their practice and the demand to which they must respond due to the intensity of the efforts this sport requires. In order to achieve this, it is necessary to establish an evaluation protocol that allows the detection of functional deficiencies, to guide and conduct in a specific and early way every moment of players' health and growth. The purpose of this study is to design, apply and analyze the effectiveness of a specific and individualized therapeutic exercise program (Basketball Pre-injury Attack) based on the approach of the functional deficiencies detected by the Basketball Injury Defense, to reduce the susceptibility to injury of youth basketball players (U14 - U17).

Safety and Usability of the STELO Exoskeleton in People With Acquired Brain Injury and Spinal Cord...

Spinal Cord InjuryAcquired Brain Injury

Gait impairment in people with acquired brain injury (ABI) and spinal cord injury (SCI) can be very heterogeneous. For this reason, STELO has been developed: a new concept of exoskeleton based on modular technology for gait assistance. It allows a personalised configuration according to the functional capacity of each patient, as the therapist can choose which robotic joints to use depending on the therapeutic goal and on the patient recovery phase. The objective is to analyse the usability of the STELO modular exoskeleton in people with ABI and SCI.

Caring Connections: A Program to Alleviate Social Isolation and Loneliness in Individuals Living...

Spinal Cord Injuries and Disorders (SCI/D)

This study will use a randomized controlled design with an active attention control group to evaluate an intervention intended to reduce social isolation and loneliness in persons with SCI/D. The intervention, Caring Connections, is a peer-based intervention which is important because peers with SCI/D play an important role in improving quality of life, mental health, and social health in persons with SCI/D.

The Effect of Combined Use of Anti-fibrotic Agent With Platelet Rich Plasma on Skeletal Muscle Healing...

PRPLosartan2 more

The aim of this comparative study is to determine whether or not LOSARTAN with its anti-fibrotic action has an added effect when administrated with platelet rich plasma injection on skeletal muscle healing and on decreasing the fibrous scar after muscle injuries in comparison with the sole administration of platelet rich plasma.

Gut Microbiota and Sepsis-associated Acute Kidney Injury

SepsisAcute Kidney Injury

Sepsis has emerged as one of the important life-threatening infectious diseases with high morbidity and mortality. Sepsis-associated kidney injury (SAKI) is one of the most common and serious complications of sepsis. It has been found that intestinal flora may affect the occurrence and development of a variety of diseases, and may also affect the pathogenesis of multiple SAKI, which is also regulated by host genetic factors. Therefore, the investigators speculate that gut microbiota composition may be associated with susceptibility to SAKI, and there are no studies reporting the association between gut microbiota and SAKI. The investigators intend to carry out a multicenter study in conjunction with the Department of Intensive Care of Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital. The structure and function of intestinal flora in septic patients with renal injury and septic patients less susceptible to renal injury are studied by 16S rDNA amplicon sequencing technology. The differences in composition, diversity and structural stability of intestinal flora between the two groups are analyzed to explore the genera that play a key role in the occurrence of the disease. By analyzing the differences between renal injury and inflammation levels in each group, the correlation between intestinal flora and SAKI, the possible influencing links involved, and the related factors affecting the prognosis of SAKI were revealed. The results of this study are helpful to further elucidate the pathogenesis of SAKI and provide new ideas and methods for the prevention and treatment of SAKI.

Factors Affecting Prognosis of Open Globe Injuries

Open Globe Injury

: Detailed history should be taken from the patients ( age ,sex ,location of accident (rural or civil) , time of injury , mode of trauma, exact mechanism of injury ) Examination at baseline to determine location and extent of injury. Associated injuries e.g. cataract ,hyphema . Assessment for other life threatening injuries. Exclusion of IOFB. The presenting visual acuity should be recorded in injuried and uninjuried eye. Fundus examination if possible. The pupils should be examined for RAPD (in blunt trauma searching post traumatic optic neuropathy) Slit lamp examination at presentation to detect extent of damage. {type of wound ( corneal ,scleral ,or corneoscleral ) , prolapsed uveal tissue presence of hyphema ,sublaxated or dislocated lens ,prolapsed vitreous } Investigations done before repair (e.g. CT orbit ) Time of primary repair should be recorded. Follow up visits at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months for :- For healing. Suture status. Detailed slit lamp and fundus examination. UCVA BCVA Investigations including:- B scan if hazy media OCT if clear media Refraction if possible Post operative complications and 2ry interventions Aim of study : predict the final visual outcome of open globe injuries. Assess most common modes of trauma in open globe injuries. Assess postoperative complications and secondary intervention

Functional Outcomes of a Criterion-based Rehabilitation Protocol for ACL Reconstruction in Amateur...

Knee Ligament InjuryAnterior Cruciate Ligament Injuries

Although current rehabilitation protocols following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) are based on the graft remodeling process, there is uncertainty about its time schedule. Moreover, there are individual differences in neuromotor learning and flexibility after ACLR. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of a criterion-based rehabilitation protocol on pain intensity, effusion, and knee function in amateur athletes following ACLR.
