Patients with type 1 diabetes type 1 (DM1) have increased risk of death due to heart disease and stroke. These cardiovascular conditions (CVD) are the leading cause of death in patients with DM1 younger than 40 years of age and up to 35% of all persons with DM1 will die before age 55 from CVD. Strategies are needed to help identify adolescents with DM1 at risk for CVD so that interventions to prevent heart disease and stroke can be undertaken.

Patients with chronic Hepatitis B who are under oral antiviral treatment for at least 6 months at study start will be monitored once yearly for kidney function changes within their routine outpatient visit. Therefore urine samples will be collected and some additional blood test will be done within the routine blood sampling.

Normal values for female external genitalia size at birth, particularly clitoris and blood level of androgens are not well known. This study's aim is to collect normal values in 180 newborn girls of 24 to 41 weeks of pregnancy, and to build genitalia growth charts according to gestational age and birth weight. The investigators will measure clitoris, genito-anal ratio using a small plastic caliper, at birth, and their evolution until Day 3 of life (if the child is still at the hospital). The investigators also want to establish normal values of blood testosterone, 17-hydroxyprogesterone, delta4-androstenedione, 21-deoxycortisol, 11-deoxycortisol, deoxycorticosterone, corticosterone, dehydroepiandrostenedione, and dihydrotestosterone), using samples taken for systematic post natal screening of diseases (only in new born of 35 or more weeks of birth). This is an observational prospective study.

As ceramide, sphingosine, sphingosine-1-phosphate and sphinganine are involved in inflammation, immunity and cancer, investigators proposed a hypothesis that sphingosine-1-phosphate and other sphingolipids may be associated with the progress of type 2 diabetes. sphingolipids may be a biomarker for diabetes.
