Arthrosamid Injection for OA Knee
OsteoarthritisKneePrior to surgical intervention, the conservative treatment of knee osteoarthritis involves analgesia and intra-articular injections and currently only steroid injections are available as part of NHS treatment. They have short-term benefit only (<6months) and potentially have detrimental effects on residual cartilage. Arthrosamid is a hydrogel consisting of 97.5% sterile water and 2.5% cross-linked polyacrylamide. It's been shown to be safe and effective, with benefits lasting beyond 2 years in the majority. However, currently it is unclear via what biological pathways it reduces joint inflammation and pain. This study will investigate the effects of Arthrosamid clinically and biologically.
Basic Research Projects Related to Sports Injuries
OsteoarthritisKnee3 moreBiological samples are important human genetic resources, which can provide great value for medical research, and how to protect and rationally utilize them is of great importance. However, at present, the blood samples after laboratory examination and the damaged tissue cleaned up in the operation will be treated as medical waste and treated according to the standard of medical waste. However, if these samples can be effectively collected and reasonably used, they can provide extremely high value for the study of sports injury-related diseases.Sports injury and joint structure belongs to multiple factors cause abnormal, through the degenerative osteoarthritis, cruciate ligament injury, patellar dislocation, discoid meniscus injury related basic research project establishment and collect the founding the research institute of sports medicine treated patients with sports injury, including degenerative osteoarthritis, intraoperative tissue, blood and saliva samples,To sample from the micro level of susceptibility genes and molecular signaling pathways to anatomical morphology and histopathologic study direction, and so on, can also for multiple transverse comparison research between samples, in order to investigate sports injury, including degenerative osteoarthritis pathogenesis, for sports trauma related disease etiology, diagnosis, treatment to provide new ideas and methods,And the selection of athletes, athletes special training plans, sports mode to provide more targeted suggestions. This study strictly complied with the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the Management of Human Genetic Resources to establish the Institute of Sports Medicine Sample Bank, which can reduce the waste of human genetic resources in China, promote the development of the discipline, and provide a higher platform for the study of sports injure-related diseases.

Gait Analysis of a Lateral-Pivot Design Total Knee Replacement
Knee OsteoarthritisPrevious motion analysis studies have demonstrated excellent ability to distinguish subtle differences in gait between normal subjects and those suffering from arthritis. With proper techniques and analysis differences between osteoarthritis patient groups can be distinguished. Previous research has indicated that subjects who received a single-radius design total knee replacement have superior gait performance that those who received a multi-radius design total knee replacement. The DJO Global Empowr PS Knee System is a single-radius lateral pivot design. This design should achieve reproducible more natural knee function and improved patient outcomes and satisfaction. A motion analysis laboratory will be used to collect gait data from patients who are going to receive a Empowr PS knee device and also from age-matched control subjects. These data will be compared with data previously collected from patients who received Stryker Triathlon devices, Biomet Vanguard devices and age-matched healthy control subjects.
Assessment of Recovery After Adductor Canal Block Analgesia in Unilateral Prosthetic Knee Surgery...
Unilateral Primary Osteoarthritis of KneeThe purpose of the study is post-operative recovery from prosthetic knee surgery will be assessed by the proportion of patients entering the Accelerated Rehabilitation After Surgery program eligible for discharge from hospital at 2 days according to the following definition: Chung score ≥ 9 with no intravenous (IV) infusion, solid food, transit restored, no signs of infection and Cumulated Ambulation Score D1 ≥ 5 (if discharged on Day 1), Cumulated Ambulation Score Day 2 ≥ 10 (if discharged on Day 2), or Cumulated Ambulation Score Day 3 ≥ 11/18.
Impact of Two Different Types of Sedation on ICEB
PropofolDexmedetomidine6 moreThe QT interval is a measure of the combination of cardiac depolarization and repolarization as it encompasses both the QRS complex and the J-T interval. QT, QTc, QTd prolongation or shortening has been associated with ventricular arrhythmias . In order to define non-torsogenic drug-induced arrhythmias, the index of cardio-electrophysiological balance (iCEB), which is a new marker calculated with the QT/QRS formula, has been defined. In our study, we planned to evaluate the effects of dexmedetomidine and propofol on cardiac electrophysiology with all these parameters, especially the newly defined iCEB.
Sinomenine Versus Glucocorticoid for Knee OA
Knee OsteoarthritisBoth glucocorticoid and sinomenine are widely used in the routine clinical treatment of osteoarthritis, but there is still a lack of high level of clinical evidence for the direct comparison of efficacy between the two drugs. This trial aims to evaluate whether intraarticular injection of sinomenine was noninferior to intraarticular injection of glucocorticoid for symptom relief in patients with early knee arthritis, and whether intraarticular injection of sinomenine was superior to intraarticular injection of glucocorticoid for changes in tibial cartilage volume (measured by mean thickness) from baseline compared with intraarticular injection of glucocorticoid. 326 people will participate in the study at 3 different research/medical institutions, with centres competing for inclusion. This trial was designed by random blind method. This trial will last for 2 years and participants will receive 6 injections every 4 months.

Effects of Exercise Versus Topical Agents on Knee Osteoarthritis
Osteo Arthritis KneeOsteoarthritis, a chronic and degenerative joint disease, is the most common type of arthritis and affects more than 300 million adults worldwide. Osteoarthritis, which is characterized by joint pain and stiffness, has negative consequences for function, participation and quality of life, which are important components of health. The knee joint is the most common joint in terms of osteoarthritis and is more common in individuals over 50 years of age. There is no proven definitive treatment in today's literature for common osteoarthritis, which is one of the important causes of the global disease burden. However, since it is a progressive disease with varying degrees of severity, it is a chronic problem that requires long-term treatment. According to current clinical guidelines prepared by the working groups of the International Osteoarthritis Research Society (OARSI) and the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases ESCEO , treatment typically includes physiotherapy interventions with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and analgesics, including intra-articular injections of corticosteroids; In more severe cases, joint replacement surgery is recommended. The aim of this research project is to examine the effectiveness of a supervised exercise program applied in combination with NSAID-specific topical agents, in comparison with groups receiving only topical agents or only exercise treatments.
Effectiveness of Arthrocentesis as Coadjuvant for Platelet-rich Plasma Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis...
Knee OsteoarthritisOsteoarthritis (OA) is a disease that affects the joints of the body, causing pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. To treat knee OA, a therapy called platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is used, which involves making a concentrated substance from the patient's own blood and injecting it into the joint. It has been shown that this therapy is effective in reducing pain; however, more research is needed to optimize the preparation and identify which patients are more receptive to the treatment. In maxillofacial surgery, arthrocentesis (AC) has been used as a treatment for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems, including OA. Arthrocentesis involves flushing the joint with physiological solutions to remove pro-inflammatory particles responsible for pain. The use of AC in combination with PRP in the joint cavity has been studied, and the results have shown promising outcomes in terms of pain reduction and functional recovery of the joint. The primary objective of this study is to determine whether AC-PRP treatment results in better pain reduction and improved functionality compared to standard PRP treatment. The secondary objective is to explore the association between changes in LEFS questionnaire scores and/or maximal quadriceps isometric strength and possible clinical improvement.
