Serum Resistin Level Following Non-surgical Periodontal Therapy in Diabetic Patients With Chronic...
Type2 Diabetesnon-surgical periodontal debridement was performed for diabetic patients with chronic periodontitis as well as for non-diabetic patients but also with chronic periodontitis. Serum resistin level was assessed in the two groups before and after periodontal therapy and also was compared to a healthy control group.
Antimicrobial Photodynamic Therapy in Treatment of Aggressive Periodontitis (Stage III, Grade C...
Aggressive PeriodontitisTreatment of aggressive periodontitis (stage III, grade C periodontitis) represents a big challenge. The aim of the study was to compare the long-term results of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) and antibiotic therapy as an adjunct to conventional non-surgical therapy in patients with aggressive periodontitis. Clinical parameters of probing depth, clinical attachment level and bleeding on probing (BOP) were assessed at baseline, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months after treatment.
Clinical & Biochemical Effect of Atorvastatin in Nano Particles Gel in Periodontitis Treatment
PeriodontitisPeriodontitis is a destructive chronic inflammatory disease characterized by periodontium damage and pocket formation between the tooth and the gingival margin resulting in ultimate tooth loss. Various topical anti-inflammatory drugs were used to treat inflammation in periodontitis. Introducing atorvastatin as a novel remedy for periodontitis treatment necessitates developing a syringeable modified delivery system capable of targeting inflammation within the periodontal pockets.
Concentrated Growth Factors in Treatment of Intrabony Defects in Localized Aggressive Periodontitis...
Aggressive PeriodontitisA total of 20 intra-bony defects in 10 LAP patients were randomly assigned into two groups 10 defects each in a split-mouth design. Group I treated by surgery plus Bio-Oss bone graft + collagen membrane (Control group). Group II, treated by surgery plus Bio-Oss bone graft + CGF membrane (Test group). Gingival index (GI), bleeding on probing (BOP), probing pocket depth and clinical attachment level (CAL) were assessed at baseline, 3, 6, and 12 months. Cone beam radiograph evaluation was taken at baseline, and 12 months after surgery..
Oral Health and Severe COPD
COPDPeriodontitis3 moreThis case-control study aims to investigate the association of severe COPD with oral health.
Influence of Flap Position Following FibReORS
PeriodontitisPeriodontal DiseasesThere is lack of data in literature on keratinized tissue increase after FibReORS in relation to primary flap position. This study has been designed as a split-mouth randomized trial to assess the influence of flap position after FibReORS. 16 patients were recruited and treated. The placement of the flap 2 mm apically to the bone crest instead at the bone level would be a viable approach to increase KT width without delaying wound healing. The extent of post-operative discomfort/pain was not influenced by primary flap position.
Hyaluronic Acid With Scaling & Root Planing In Chronic Periodontitis Patients With Diabetes Mellitus...
Chronic PeriodontitisThe present study aimed to assess the adjunctive use of Hyaluronic acid with scaling & root planing (SRP) in patients with chronic periodontitis & diabetes mellitus type 2.
Randomized Clinical Trial of Enamel Matrix Derivative: Radiographic Analysis
Chronic PeriodontitisThis is a split-mouth, double-blind randomized controlled trial. Computerized linear radiographic measurements were used to detect infrabony defects treated with open flap debridement (OFD) or OFD associated with enamel matrix derivative (EMD), after 24 months. Ten patients presenting 2 or more defects were selected (43 defects). An individualized film holder was used to take standardized radiographs at baseline and after 24 months. Images were digitized and used to measure the distances from the cemento-enamel junction (CEJ) to the alveolar crest (AC), CEJ to the bottom of the defect (BD) and infrabony defect angle.
Comparison of Autogenous Periosteal Pedicle Graft and Collagen Membrane in Management of Periodontal...
Chronic PeriodontitisA clinical and radiographic evaluation of autogenous periosteal pedicle graft in comparison with collagen membrane for management of periodontal intrabony defects.
Effect of Laser Use on Guided Tissue Regeneration in Treatment of Molar Teeth With Class 2 Furcation...
Furcation DefectsPeriodontitis1 morePurpose: The proposed study will evaluate and compare the clinical response of using bioresorbable collagen membrane alone or defect debridement with erbium Laser irradiation in conjunction with bioresorbable collagen membrane in the treatment of Class II furcation defects in maxillary and mandibular teeth. The study will examine whether there is a superior regeneration potential when the laser energy is combined with membrane defect isolation. Procedure: The study will use 2 groups, a control group and a test group with 16 patients in each group, with severe chronic periodontitis having clinical or radiographic evidence of Class II furcation defects in the buccal or lingual of the mandibular molars or Class II furcation defects on the buccal of maxillary molars. 16 patients will serve as the control group and open flap debridement with bioresorbable collagen membrane will be the mode of treatment. Group 2: 16 patients will serve as the test group and will undergo open flap debridement in conjunction with Er, Cr: YSGG laser irradiation and a bioresorbable collagen membrane will be used.
