Phase II Study of Everolimus in Children and Adolescents With Refractory or Relapsed Rhabdomyosarcoma...
Refractory or Relapsed RMS and Soft Tissue SarcomasThe purpose of this study is to determine the Everolimus aim response in children and adolescents with refractory or relapsed Rhabdomyosarcoma and other soft tissue sarcomas

Study of Vinorelbine and Cyclofosfamide Among Patients With Refractory Tumours or in Relapse
RhabdomyosarcomasNeoplasms5 moreThis is a phase II study to determine the antitumor activity of Vinorelbine and Cyclofosfamide association among patients with refractory tumours or in relapse with rhabdomyosarcomas and other soft tissue tumours, Ewing tumours, osteosarcomas, neuroblastomas or medulloblastomas.

Ex Vivo Drug Sensitivity Testing and Mutation Profiling
Recurrent Childhood Acute Myeloid LeukemiaRecurrent Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia13 moreThis study is a prospective, non-randomized feasibility study. Freshly isolated tumor cells from patients will be screened using state-of-the-art viability assay designed for ex vivo high-throughput drug sensitivity testing (DST). In addition, genetic information will be obtained from cancer and normal (germline) tissue and correlated with drug response. This study will provide the platform for informing treating physician about individualized treatment options. The main outcome of this study will be the proportions of the patients whose treatment was guided by the personalized medicine approach.

Genetic Study of Children With Soft Tissue Sarcoma or Rhabdomyosarcoma
LeukemiaMyelodysplastic Syndromes1 moreRATIONALE: Determination of genetic markers for soft tissue sarcoma or rhabdomyosarcoma may help doctors identify patients who are at risk for therapy-related leukemia. PURPOSE: Clinical trial to study genetic testing of children with soft tissue sarcoma or rhabdomyosarcoma to identify children who are at risk of developing leukemia from the chemotherapy used to treat sarcoma.

Supersaturated Calcium Phosphate Rinse in Preventing Oral Mucositis in Young Patients Undergoing...
Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in RemissionChildhood Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Remission27 moreThis randomized phase III trial is studying how well Caphosol rinse works in preventing mucositis in young patients undergoing autologous or donor stem cell transplant. Supersaturated calcium phosphate (Caphosol) rinse may be able to prevent mucositis, or mouth sores, in patients undergoing stem cell transplant.

Effects of Preoperative Physical Therapy in Patients With Lower Extremity Malignancy
OsteosarcomaEwing's Sarcoma5 moreThis application proposes a prospective clinical trial to evaluate the impact of adding a focused physical therapy (PT) intervention to the preoperative regimen of individuals diagnosed with a malignancy of the lower extremity (LE). The primary aim will be to determine if individuals diagnosed with a malignancy of the LE can participate in a 10 week preoperative strengthening, stretching, and aerobic exercise regimen.

Studying Biomarkers in Samples From Patients With Rhabdomyosarcoma
SarcomaRATIONALE: Studying samples of blood from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to cancer. PURPOSE: This research trial studies biomarkers in samples from patients with rhabdomyosarcoma.

Protein Expression in Samples From Young Patients With Rhabdomyosarcoma
SarcomaRATIONALE: Studying tissue samples from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to cancer. It may also help doctors find better ways to treat cancer. PURPOSE: This research trial studies protein expression in samples from young patients with rhabdomyosarcoma.

Drug Sensitivity and Mutation Profiling
Ewing SarcomaOsteosarcoma6 moreThis study is a prospective, non-randomized observational study. Freshly isolated tumor cells will be tested for chemosensitivity to the standard of care drugs as single agents and in combinations using state-of-the-art viability assay designed for ex-vivo high-throughput drug sensitivity testing (DST). In addition, the genetic profile of the tumor will be obtained from the medical records and correlated with drug response.

DNA Tests in Detecting Disseminated Disease in Tumor, Blood, and Bone Marrow Samples From Patients...
SarcomaRATIONALE: DNA analysis of tumor, blood, and bone marrow may help doctors predict if the disease has been disseminated. PURPOSE: This research trial studies DNA tests in detecting disseminated disease in tumor, blood, and bone marrow samples from patients with rhabdomyosarcoma.
