The Effectiveness of Stretching and Orthoses in Individuals With Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

The objective of this study is to compare the effectiveness of stretching and prefabricated orthoses versus orthoses alone in individuals with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) using validated condition-appropriate outcome measures such as BCTQ, pain levels, grip strength, and nerve conduction studies.

The Effectiveness of Group Interpersonal Synchrony in Young Autistic Adults' Work Environment

Autism Spectrum Disorder

Background: Few autistic adults are able to integrate successfully into the world of work given their difficulties adapting to the social and stressful aspects of work environments. Interpersonal synchrony, when two or more individuals share body movements or sensations, is a powerful force that consolidates human groups while promoting the ability to self-regulate and cooperate with others. The abilities to self-regulate and cooperate are crucial for maintaining a calm and productive work environment. Objectives: This randomized controlled trial (RCT) aims to assess the effects of group interpersonal synchrony on prosociality and work-related stress of young autistic adults in their work environment. Methods: This mixed-methods RCT will investigate two movement-based group synchronous and non-synchronous intervention conditions. The sample will be composed of young adults enrolled in an innovative Israeli program designed to integrate cognitively-abled 18- to 25-year-old autistic adults into the Israeli army work force. The movement-based intervention sessions will take place in groups of 10-14 participants, once a week for 10 weeks. Questionnaires, behavioral collaborative tasks and semi-structured interviews will be conducted. Quantitative data will be collected for each participant at three points of time: before and after the intervention period, and four months after the end of the intervention. Qualitative data will be collected after the intervention period in interviews with 15% of the participants.

Efficacy of Laser Acupuncture on Neurophysiological Parameters of Median Nerve in Postpartum Women...

Neurophysiologic Abnormality

BACKGROUND: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), the most common entrapment neuropathy of the upper extremity, is caused by compression of the median nerve as it travels through the carpal tunnel CTs is a very common complication found in pregnancy, which is reported as high as 62% in pregnant females. The functioning of median nerve is compromised in almost all pregnant females especially during the third trimester of pregnancy, the majority may still feel some symptoms up to 3 years after delivery. Many clinicians have used LLLT on acupuncture points, which is called laser acupuncture (LA), to treat many clinical problems, such as musculoskeletal pain, lateral epicondylitis, headaches, etc. In contrast with traditional acupuncture needles, LA is a non-invasive therapy that does not cause tingling/pain during procedures Objective: to determine efficacy of laser acupuncture on electrophysiological parameters of median nerve in postpartum women

DPOS Versus GnRH Antagonist Protocol for Oocyte Accumulation in Low Ovarian Reserve Patients: An...

Diminished Ovarian Reserve

One of the barriers in patients with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) is the significantly reduced number of oocytes resulting in fewer oocytes collected and embryos formed. Many ovarian stimulation strategies have been proposed to improve oocyte or embryo quantity which is oocyte accumulation could be a potential option with a comparable success rate and reasonable cost. Progestin-primed ovarian stimulation (PPOS) protocol could be suggested as an alternative method of premature Luteinizing hormone (LH) prevention in IVF. It favors segment Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) cycles such as frozen embryo transfer (FET), oocyte donor, fertility preservation, and oocyte accumulation set. The protocol is more patient-friendly and affordable than the GnRH antagonist regimen regarding LH suppression during ovarian stimulation. Many PPOS protocols have been proposed in which the three most common agents include Dydrogesterone (DYG), Micronised Progesterone (MIP), and Medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA). Indeed, DYG seems to have some advantages, including oral administration and safety which has been used in the treatment of threatened abortion. Initial evidence of PPOS protocol suggests that oocyte quantity and quality are comparable with other ovarian stimulation regimens. However, data related to the PPOS protocol has not been well documented, including Dydrogesteron-primed ovarian stimulation (DPOS). There has not been an RCT with a large sample size and well-designed to provide more substantial evidence. A randomized trial to compare the effectiveness of PPOS and GnRH antagonist protocol in IVF is urgently needed.

STENOVA - A Study to Evaluate Safety, Tolerability, PK and PD of AGMB-129 in Patients With Fibrostenotic...

Fibrostenotic Crohn's Disease

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about the safety, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of AGMB-129 in patients with Crohn's disease. The main questions it aims to answer are: is AGMB-129 safe and well tolerated in these patients? what does the body do to the drug (pharmacokinetics)? what does the drug do to the body (pharmacodynamics)? The participants will be in the study for a total duration of up to 19 weeks, including a 5-week screening period, a 12-week double-blind, placebo-controlled treatment period where they will receive either a high or low dose or placebo (1:1:1), and 2-week safety follow-up period

Enhancing Psychotherapy for Veterans and Service Members With PTSD and Anxiety

Posttraumatic Stress DisorderAnxiety Disorders

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare two different intensive formats of delivering cognitive-behavioral treatment for people with PTSD and anxiety disorders. The main questions it aims to answer are: Is iTCBT delivered in individual and group formats more effective than TAU in improving anxiety symptoms and quality of life? For treatment non-responders, is iTCBT-Enhanced more effective than TAU improving anxiety symptoms and quality of life? Does iTCBT-Individual produce a larger improvement in anxiety and quality of life compared with iTCBT-Group? Participants will undergo several assessments throughout the course of the study. Based on randomization, they will receive: (1) iTCBT in an individual format over a 2-week period, (2) iTCBT in a group format over a 2-day period, or (3) usual care. Those who do not show a response to treatment will receive 4 additional individual therapy sessions.

Type 2 DiabetesObese1 more

The objective of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of the GOLO for Life® Plan (G4LP) and Release supplementation on glycemic control and weight in overweight and obese adults with Type 2 Diabetes. The change in glycemic control from baseline at Days 90 and 180 following the G4LP and supplementation with Release will be assessed. Additionally, the safety and tolerability of the G4LP and Release supplementation will be measured by the occurrence of and/or changes in pre-emergent and post-emergent adverse events (AEs).
